Job Description:
This position facilitates the daily production of 02 cylinders at Intermountain Homecare and Hospice. They are responsible to collaborate and coordinate with internal customers daily to ensure that production is sufficient to meet patient demand. They process, fill, and test oxygen cylinders in accordance with government / regulatory guidelines and Intermountain Policy. Ensures proper and efficient storage and rotation of cylinders for required hydro testing. Performs daily, biweekly, and annual inspections of the Intermountain Homecare and Hospice Transfill system.
Job Essentials
1. Performs Prefill Process including:
a) Checks bulk Liquid Oxygen storage tank for the gauge and the pressure of the tank.
b) Calibrates Servomex to test the purity of oxygen.
c) Completes the thermometer accuracy record for calibration of the thermometer.
d) Checks hydrostatic test dates on each tank.
e) Performs a visual inspection of each tank for pitting, gouges, labeling potential heat damage. Inspection verifies that the tank is in working order and meets regulations to provide medical oxygen to patients.
f) Performs odor test.
g) Ensures tanks are properly vented.
h) Conducts a valve inspection.
i) Vacuums tanks prior to filling.
j) Performs color testing.
2. Performs Fill Process including:
a) Monitors heat of compression.
b) Monitors pressure during filling.
c) Monitors temperature of tanks.
3. Performs Post Fill Process including:
a) A leak test.
b) A purity test.
c) An odor test.
d) The batch is then reviewed and checked off.
e) Proper storage of cylinders in designated storage areas or racks.
4. Safety: Ensures the safety of the transfill area at all times. Ensures that everyone entering the transfill area adheres to established safety guidelines.
5. Inspections: Performs daily, biweekly, and annual inspections of transfill systems and notifies the Clinical Engineering Department of safety concerns, scheduled maintenance, or needed repairs.
6. Customer Service Coordination: On a daily basis coordinates with Clean Room, Asset Tracking, Warehouse, and Fleet to ensure an adequate number of cylinders are produced to meet the daily patient and store demands.
7. Policies and Procedures: Maintains an up to date knowledge of policies and procedures relative to transfill operations (to include hydro testing) for federal, state, joint commission, and Intermountain Healthcare.
8. Maintenance: Performs corrective maintenance and repair on assigned equipment and instrumentation. Ensures all repairs are documented. Ensures annual preventative maintenance is completed on all pressure gauges and Servomex devices. (Servomex machine ensures the purity of the oxygen.)
9. Certification: Completes certification and annual recertification for the transfill system.

Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated basic computer skills with word processing and email software.
- Demonstrated ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
- Demonstrated basic arithmetic skills, plus a working knowledge of package and warehouse units and measurements.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply basic department procedures and practices.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.

- Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with federal regulations pertaining to transfill operations.

Preferred Qualifications
- Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) trained and certified.
- SERVOMEX trained and certified
- Successfully pass Homecare transfill test.
- Successfully complete all requirements of Homecare transfill certification training
- Demonstrated medical equipment experience
- Demonstrated experience with inventory databases.
- Demonstrated experience with inventory databases.
- Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) trained and certified.
- SERVOMEX University trained and certified.
- Successfully pass Homecare Transfill Test.
- Successfully complete all requirements of Homecare Transfill Certification Training.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
