Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a franchise dealership payroll position.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisor or office manager role is highly preferred.
  • Advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel.
  • A thorough understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience with dealer management systems such as ADP, Reynolds, or Ignite is required.
  • A high school diploma is required; a college degree is preferred.
  • Must be able to provide references upon request.
Responsibilities
  • Recruit and train office staff.
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations, cash reports, and floor plan payoffs.
  • Review and sign company checks.
  • Perform weekly schedule reviews and work with office staff to maintain schedules.
  • Collect non-sufficient funds and turn applicable items over to legal counsel for collection.
  • Formulate procedures for the systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records.
  • Review documentation related to the handling and processing of documents.
  • Assist with month-end close procedures.
  • Assist with completion of annual reviews and audits.
  • Act as a liaison with customers and outside vendors.
  • Support all department managers.
  • Direct and coordinate payroll functions for multiple locations using Workday, including processing and reconciling payroll accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile benefits for monthly invoices.
  • Work with Human Resources to ensure new hires are entered into the system accurately and on time.
  • Ensure cost centers run accurately for payroll costs and employee expenses.
  • Maintain appropriate audits and handle requests from the Internal Revenue Service and other government agencies for compliance purposes.
  • Issue manual checks when needed.
  • Create reports as needed.
  • Develop employees at store locations so they gain expertise in payroll functions.
  • Comply with internal and external reporting requirements according to requested guidelines, formats, and time frames.
  • Review reports with managers and provide analysis as necessary.
  • Implement policies and procedures regarding the legal handling and processing of documents.
  • Stay current on laws related to document handling and processing, including payroll changes under the Fair Labor Standards Act and Affordable Care Act.
  • Review and audit documents for completeness and accuracy.

Ken Garff Automotive Group provides Thanksgiving meals to local veterans. Fort Collins and Greeley sites host drive-through giveaways as part of multi-state community service effort. Ken Garff Automotive Group is partnering with the Northern Colorado Veterans Resource Center and the Community Veteran Project to provide free Thanksgiving meals to veterans and military families during its annual "Drive Out Hunger" events in Greeley and Fort Collins. The effort is part of the company's "We're 'Hear' for You" community-giving initiative, which engages employees in hands-on service projects across nine states. Each vehicle that enters the drive-through will receive a tote bag containing a frozen turkey, sides, dessert, and cooking essentials - support intended to help Northern Colorado veterans enjoy a complete holiday meal.
