In India, we operate as Next Gear India Private Limited, a fully-owned subsidiary of Cotality with offices in Kolkata, West Bengal, and Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Next Gear India Private Limited plays a vital role in Cotality's Product Development capabilities, focusing on creating and delivering innovative solutions for the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance and Property Restoration industries.

The Senior Software Engineer researches, designs, and develops software features for hosted systems and is primarily centered around mid-tier business logic and back-end data management in a .NET and MS SQL Server stack. He/she/they will work with an established team of .NET and front-end developers to enhance our existing platform, create new platforms, and help drive continued development. The Engineer will see opportunities to work with cross-functional and cross-geographic team members.

Critical Job Duties:

• Develop creative, functional, maintainable, applications, services and components

• Guide UI development, assisting other developers and product team members to understand options, viability, and maintainability of new requirements

• Write high quality, re-usable code following industry best practices

• Provide development estimates for enhancement requests

• Perform design/code reviews and help maintain code quality, performance, and application responsiveness

• Demonstrate expertise and ownership of all frontend & native components

• Test programs to ensure quality and expected results before delivery to Quality Engineering

• Investigate and resolve bugs and/or deficiencies in project codebases

• Work on projects of moderate to advanced complexity

• Keep skills up-to-date with current and future software technologies through continued education and self-learning to ensure maximum functionality and efficiency

• Assist in creation and maintenance of DevOps tooling and code deployments.

• Collaborate both in the team and cross-functionally, and contribute in group decision-making

• Assists & mentor associate and mid-tier engineers

Job Qualifications:

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position has strong Javascript skills and experience, particularly in the Angular framework. He/she/they are passionate about crafting solid code working alongside their team members to predictably deliver value. Said candidate will be curious, adventurous, and someone who constantly looks to advance the current state of our products and the technologies we use.

Qualifications

• Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Angular, Ionic, NGRX, RXJS, and hybrid UI development

• Experience in developing applications for both iOS & Android, including proficiency in Swift

• Thorough understanding of UI automation and testability

• Demonstrated understanding of Algorithms, Data Structures, Object Oriented Design, Databases (SQL / NoSQL)

• Experience with RESTful Web Service Design

• Experience working as a member of an Agile team

• Experience working with 3rd party partners to design and deliver cross-platform integrations

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a software related discipline or equivalent experience is preferred

• The ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving skills

• Cross-department collaboration skills

• Experience with MS Azure and AZDO preferred
