Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D software
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T
  • Experience creating detailed assembly drawings and documentation
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications and apply design standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and creativity
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
  • Familiarity with sheet metal design, machining, plastics, or other manufacturing methods
Responsibilities
  • Develop 2D and 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks and similar software
  • Translate concepts, sketches, and specifications into manufacturable designs
  • Collaborate with engineers to refine designs and ensure compliance with requirements, standards, and safety regulations
  • Conduct tolerance analysis, material selection, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) evaluations
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation of components
  • Revise and update existing drawings and documentation as needed
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and quality of designs
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and version control of design files
  • Support product safety certifications with NRTL partners (UL, CSA, IEC)
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) or simulation tools
  • Experience with UL, CSA, IEC electrical safety and EMC requirements related to power system design
