PwC launches AI-powered managed services for the Finance function.

PwC launches AI-powered managed services for the Finance function. 27 August 2026 Consultancy.com.au Described as a major shift in its traditional delivery model, professional services firm PwC has launched a new managed services offering for the finance function. Geared towards private and mid-sized companies and intended as the first in a series of releases, the new AI-powered managed service uses agents to perform a wide, variable range of finance function tasks, with continued oversight from PwC professionals. Traditionally designed for large enterprises, the firm said its new, cost-effective offering opens up the option of managed services for smaller Australian businesses, which can also struggle with talent shortfalls and regulatory and technological complexity. "This is built for complex finance work that requires professional judgement, regulatory knowledge, and continuous improvement, not just volume and cost reduction," stated advisory practice leader Rohit Antao. "It gives private and mid-market businesses an end-to-end solution, with confidence that critical finance work is being completed consistently, securely, and to a high standard." A year in development, the firm said an initial 90-day pilot of the service across accounts payable workflows resulted in a near halving of processing hours while achieving 93 percent 'first-run' accuracy, with payroll, compliance, and reporting among the many other areas the service can cover. Around 150 clients have already signed up, with PwC providing varying degrees of support. The leader: Jade Dixon. The new business will be led by Sydney managing partner Jade Dixon, who stressed its built-in security and governance; "Bringing AI into client financial data is not something we take lightly, and we have spent time understanding the risks. PwC operates and is accountable for the services and the AI agents within it, and our people remain in control of the judgement and review." She continued; "As a future-ready, scalable finance function delivered as a service, this is a fundamentally new way of working. AI agents handle the routine, repetitive tasks with speed and precision, while our PwC people provide the oversight and accountability our clients rely on. It's an end-to-end model where we advise, build, and operate - together with our clients." Delivery model. Following up on its earlier release of agentic-AI professional services solutions on the AWS marketplace, the latest launch provides the foundations for PwC to further evolve its delivery model, with a broader suite of managed service offerings expected to follow in areas such as cybersecurity, financial crime compliance, human resources, procurement, and analytics. "This is about giving small businesses access to the capability, technology, and oversight they need in a way that is scalable, practical and cost-effective while improving transparency and quality," said recently re-elected CEO Kevin Burrowes. "AI does the necessary but repetitive tasks, while our people focus on what matters most for our clients - trusted insights and outcomes." Redington names two new managing directors.

Redington names two new managing directors. By Kimberly Hayes August 27, 2026 Redington, a London-based investment consultancy, has appointed two new managing directors to expand its investment consulting team for institutional investors. Andrew Drake joins after 25 years in the industry, most recently as a partner at PwC, where he led the UK pensions investment consultancy business. Earlier, he co-founded River & Mercantile Solutions, which later became P-Solve. His work has helped institutional clients meet long-term investment goals. Nick Horsfall arrives from the Asset Management Exchange, where he served on the advisory board. Before that, he spent over 30 years at Willis Towers Watson, rising to managing director in its investment practice. Both appointments support Redington's plan to improve advice for trustees and corporate sponsors on complex investment decisions. The firm's decision to add senior talent reflects changes in the pensions industry. Regulatory pressures and market volatility have increased demand for specialized guidance. Many asset owners now want advice that combines innovation with practical strategies - an area where both new hires have experience. Drake said he was "delighted to join Redington during this expansion phase." He noted the significant challenges facing pensions and the need for original thinking and independent advice. His remarks align with Redington's goal of helping 100 million people achieve financial security. Horsfall also emphasized independence, calling it vital for asset owners. "It's something I've always prioritized," he said, adding that Redington's culture and reputation for impartiality attracted him. His return to advisory work after time in asset management shows confidence in hands-on consulting for clients facing market uncertainty. The appointments go beyond increasing staff. They show an effort to combine deep institutional knowledge with new perspectives. Drake's experience in founding and scaling businesses could bring a fresh approach, while Horsfall's long career at a major consultancy offers stability in client relationships. Patrick O'Sullivan, Redington's head of investment consulting, described the hires as part of a push to build on the firm's strengths. He highlighted the skilled and passionate team, supported by proprietary risk analytics and advanced technology. The focus on technology matters. Many consultancies now use data-driven tools to model scenarios and test portfolios. Redington's emphasis on these capabilities suggests it views them as a key advantage, especially as clients seek faster decision-making and greater transparency. O'Sullivan also stressed maintaining service quality. While this is a common promise in professional services, it may reflect concerns that growth could dilute expertise. By hiring leaders with decades of experience, Redington aims to prove that scale and specialization can work together. The new managing directors will report directly to O'Sullivan. They join a team that includes manager research specialists and risk analysts. Their roles will extend beyond client work to internal development, such as refining advisory methods and expanding services. Execution remains the priority. Drake and Horsfall must quickly build trust with existing clients while helping Redington attract new ones. The pensions industry has seen consolidation, with larger firms absorbing smaller players. Redington's ability to stand out may depend on delivering the tailored, independent advice its new hires have long provided. The appointments carry no fixed plan. They represent a commitment to experience and adaptability. Whether Redington's goal of financial security for 100 million people is realistic, the firm is investing heavily to pursue it. Cyber threats continue to evolve, moving beyond traditional targets to affect broader sectors.

Vinayak Singh joins PwC as Executive Director.

Vinayak Singh joins PwC as Executive Director. Business Success Elites Team | Aug 27, 2026 Vinayak Singh joins PwC as Executive Director, and it says something about where marketing talent is headed. Vinayak Singh joins PwC as Executive Director this week, closing one chapter of a career spent almost entirely on the client side and opening a very different one inside a Big Four consulting firm. He announced the move on LinkedIn, the way most of these transitions surface these days, thanking the people and organisations who shaped how he thinks about business along the way. It is a short post. But the career behind it is not, and that is really where the story sits. A career built brand by brand. Singh spent close to fifteen years moving through some of the most recognisable names in Indian and multinational consumer business. He started at LG Electronics, first as a product marketing manager and then as a digital marketing specialist, a stretch that ran from 2011 to 2016 and effectively covered the years India's marketing playbook shifted from print and television dominance to digital-first thinking. From there, he moved to Abbott Nutrition, where he headed digital marketing for roughly five years, followed by a shorter stint at Godrej & Boyce as Assistant General Manager for digital marketing. In mid 2022, he took over as Head of Digital Marketing at Bajaj Consumer Care, and by late 2024, he had moved again, this time to Reliance Digital, one of India's largest consumer electronics retailers under the Reliance Retail umbrella. That last role put him at the centre of a business managing thousands of physical stores alongside an expanding online push, a mandate that would have exposed him to omnichannel marketing at a scale few Indian retailers can match. From brand building to advisory work. The jump to PwC marks a genuine pivot, not just another lateral move between brands. In his LinkedIn post, Singh described his journey across digital marketing, brand marketing, e-commerce and omnichannel marketing as work that shaped how he thinks about the role marketing plays in driving what he called meaningful growth. He said he was looking forward to learning from people at PwC and contributing to the opportunities and challenges ahead. Read plainly, that is the language of someone stepping out of operating roles and into advisory ones. Consulting firms have been building out their marketing and customer experience practices aggressively over the past few years, and hiring operators who have actually run digital marketing functions inside large consumer businesses, rather than only advised on them, has become a clear pattern across the Big Four. Singh also holds executive education credentials from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and the Indian School of Business, credentials that likely support this shift toward strategic and advisory work rather than day-to-day brand execution. Why this appointment matters beyond one resume. On its own, a single executive move rarely tells a big story. But taken alongside a broader trend, senior marketers with strong D2C, e-commerce and data-driven backgrounds are increasingly being pulled into consulting; it points to something real. Companies like PwC are not just building technology and strategy practices anymore; they are building marketing transformation practices, and they need people who have actually sat inside the machine. For Singh, the move represents a bet that his operating experience across LG, Abbott, Godrej, Bajaj Consumer Care and Reliance Digital translates into advisory value for PwC's clients. For PwC, it is one more signal that the firm is serious about deepening its marketing and consumer strategy bench with people who bring scar tissue from real brand jobs, not just frameworks from a slide deck. Whether this proves to be a natural next step or a bigger leap than it first appears will likely become clearer once Singh's specific mandate at PwC takes shape. For now, it is one more data point in a hiring trend that Indian marketing and consulting circles will want to keep watching.
