Requirements
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to performing assigned duties.
  • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency/Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical/Back Office.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • BLS certification upon hire.
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the health system.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to travel to off-site physician practices.
  • Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Perform non-licensed medical care in an assigned outpatient clinical setting.
  • Perform clerical functions associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary.
  • Travel between locations within the health system as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • Outpatient experience.
  • Knowledge of university and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs.
  • Experience working in registration, scheduling, and/or authorization processes.
  • Experience working in a hospital or medical office setting.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese.
