Requirements
  • Must have an appreciation for the design-build process, embracing the understanding of construction practicalities as a necessary complement to architectural design.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction and their associated building codes and standards.
  • Should be a self-starter, able to take direction and run with it.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong graphic and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including to nonprofessionals, the ideas and concepts guiding decisions.
  • Strong understanding, curiosity, and appreciation of building systems, construction methods, and architectural detailing.
  • Understanding that design and construction is a team sport requiring collaboration.
  • All candidates agree to complete an assessment for selection and pre-employment drug screen.
Responsibilities
  • Support the development of conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
  • Create drawings, 3D models, renderings, and presentation materials using SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Powerpoint, and other design and presentation software.
  • Assist with research and application of building codes, zoning laws, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in internal design reviews and coordination meetings.
  • Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and other team members as directed.
  • Ensure that design work meets project goals, timelines, and technical standards.
  • Contribute to design innovation and sustainability strategies when applicable.
  • Support site analysis and feasibility studies for potential projects.
  • Perform redlines and revisions under supervision.
  • Assist with construction administration activities such as submittal reviews and RFI responses.
Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an architectural or design firm is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program is preferred.
  • On path to architectural licensure is preferred.
