The fast food giant, in Vicar Lane, has been closed since the end of May as part of the global chain's 'reimaging programme'. The refurbishment work is expected to "improve the experience for both customers and the restaurant team". Works are now nearing an end, as part of the establishment will re-open in the coming days. A McDonald's spokesperson said: "Our Daventry restaurant has closed to undergo refurbishment work as part of our reimaging programme, to improve the experience of both customers and the restaurant team. "We look forward to welcoming customers back to the Drive Thru on June 30, with the restaurant fully reopening in mid-July." The expected re-opening date for the restaurant is Thursday July 16.

Construction underway on new McDonald's in Allenstown. Construction is now underway on Allenstown's future McDonald's location, with crews making visible progress at the former Aubuchon Hardware site on Turnpike Street. The project will redevelop the property at 77 Turnpike Street, where Aubuchon Hardware served the community for decades before relocating across the street to the former Rite Aid building. Following a series of planning and zoning approvals, work is now moving forward on the new restaurant. From hardware store to fast food restaurant. The redevelopment marks a significant change for one of Allenstown's longtime commercial properties. After Aubuchon Hardware moved to its new location, the former building was demolished to make way for the project. According to local reports, plans for the new McDonald's include a double drive-thru, customer parking, updated landscaping, and new signage. Town boards reviewed the proposal through multiple meetings as traffic, site design, and utility considerations were addressed. Residents driving along Turnpike Street can now see construction activity at the site as the project continues to take shape. A new addition to Allenstown. The restaurant represents one of the more visible commercial developments currently underway in Allenstown. While some residents have expressed nostalgia for the longtime hardware store location, others see the project as a sign of continued investment in the community. McDonald's has not publicly announced an official opening date, and it remains unclear whether the location will be company operated or owned by a franchisee. However, previous local reports indicated the restaurant was tentatively expected to open this year. A new McDonald's restaurant could soon open in the place of a former Poundland store in Hornchurch. McDonald's has submitted plans to open a new branch at 116-118 Hornchurch High Street, in place of the now empty premises that was formerly home to Poundland. The proposals include space to seat 125 people, as well as provision for takeaway customers and a new side lobby, which will result in an extension to the existing store. Changes are also planned for the shopfront, including a new sliding entrance door. Meanwhile, the back of the premises is set be redesigned to create a new storage area, parking space, and cycle lockers for staff. McDonald's said the proposed new restaurant represents a "multi-million pound investment" in Hornchurch and will create more than 120 full and part-time jobs for the community. In its supporting statement for the application, agent Planware Ltd said: "The proposals provide the opportunity for McDonald's to meet a long-standing requirement for a restaurant to serve this catchment area, to meet customer demand and introduce additional choice in the market, reusing an existing vacant building. "The proposed development represents a multi-million pound investment creating jobs both during the construction and operation phases, resulting in many associated economic benefits for the local area."
