Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or two years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant certifications and/or proficiencies may be required, with a target completion within 90 days following formal training provided by WVUHS Information Technology.
  • Foundational experience analyzing business needs, documenting functional specifications, and aligning technical solutions with business needs.
  • Ability to use process maps, workflow diagrams, and data analytics to support system design, training, and problem resolution.
  • Foundational troubleshooting and system-testing skills to help identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information clearly and support collaboration.
  • Ability to respond to unexpected changes and system issues while helping minimize operational disruptions.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping, and to sit for extended periods.
  • Willingness to travel to other West Virginia United Health System facilities or affiliated sites for implementations, training, and support.
Responsibilities
  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of software systems to meet organizational needs.
  • Assist with system troubleshooting, end-user training, and basic project coordination.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving IT issues, escalating issues as needed.
  • Support system modifications, implementation, and testing for basic workflows.
  • Participate in functional and integrated testing, document results, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to system error correction and optimization.
  • Apply user security settings under the guidance of senior analysts.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to implement system enhancements and new functionality.
  • Assist with data import/export and generate basic reports.
  • Work with business partners to understand needs, gather requirements, and align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Help define project scope, deliverables, schedules, and milestones.
  • Help oversee projects and serve as a contact for team members, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and document meeting notes and action items.
  • Maintain project documentation, including project scopes, plans, reports, and status updates.
  • Help identify project risks, create mitigation plans, and ensure contingency measures are in place.
  • Help identify project issues and assist in finding solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Provide classroom, one-on-one, and remediation training to end users.
  • Assess staff readiness and skill levels and identify additional training needs.
  • Provide ongoing end-user systems support.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and training materials aligned with organizational workflows and objectives.
  • Expand technical knowledge through application community sites, professional networks, industry tools, training sessions, workshops, industry news, and team knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Conduct basic research for projects and contribute to content development.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with applicable business, clinical, imaging, or web application systems, including advanced workflows focused on efficiency and optimization.
  • Proficiency in systems administration and providing strategic insights and improvements to business operations.
  • Experience working in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, with a focus on improving patient-care processes through advanced system implementations.
  • Understanding of clinical data management and healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7, FHIR, and DICOM.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based healthcare applications and web services.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools for data analysis, reporting, and decision support.
