Requirements
  • An associate-level qualification in mechanics or equivalent experience with railway rolling stock in a design office or maintenance environment.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanics.
  • Good knowledge of railway rolling stock.
  • Significant maintenance experience and experience with several in-service rolling-stock types are particularly appreciated.
  • Ability to listen, analyze, and synthesize information.
  • Ability to pilot technical dossiers while interacting with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to propose and present an action plan.
  • Technical and organizational rigor.
  • Ability to work in a team and willingness to broaden and transfer skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good command of office tools.
  • Short trips in the Paris region, France, or abroad are required.

Responsibilities
  • Pilot studies, expert assessments, and qualification of mechanical bodywork changes to in-service rolling stock in coordination with maintenance units.
  • Analyze procedures and operating methods proposed by manufacturers, lead incident analyses, propose, develop, and validate solutions, and respond to requests from study engineers and maintenance units.
  • Use field experience to guide technical solution choices consistently with maintenance constraints.
  • Draft technical specifications for the mechanical bodywork and fittings domain for new rolling-stock acquisitions.
  • Assess technical offers from potential suppliers, analyze and validate supplier deliverables against technical specifications and applicable standards, and participate in equipment validation trials.
  • Participate in standardization or research and development activities when required.
  • Perform occasional studies and specific assignments for External Engineering or Certifer.
  • Work within the Mechanical Bodywork Studies team under the hierarchical responsibility of the EMC Manager.

  • Knowledge of several in-service rolling-stock types and significant maintenance experience.
