Milk-Bone is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our team. This position helps to keep our quality system audit-ready through document review and record-keeping. This position will report directly to the Associate Quality Manager.

- This is a Monday – Friday daytime position with required weekend overtime hours on Saturday and Sunday. (12-15 weekends per year; flex schedule 4+ hours per weekend day)
- Must be able to comprehend and follow documents such as safety policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and general instructions.
- Knowledge of GFSI, BRC, and FSMA requirements is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Audit paperwork and computer entries for inbound materials.
- Participate in the site quality system as a Smucker Key Element Owner.
- Communicate with vendor contacts as needed.
- Maintain document organization and retention to support company requirements.
- Participate in internal audits of the production floor as part of the Food Safety Program.
- Train on inspection, testing, and documentation of inbound raw material receipt as needed.
- Responsible for “audit-ready” program management as assigned.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing enhancements to quality processes and systems.
- Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes to address non-conformances or recurring issues.
- Develop and deliver training for employees on GMPs, SOPs, and quality-related topics; maintain training records and ensure compliance with schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance and assist with supplier audits; review and maintain vendor certificates, including COAs and specifications.
- Compile and analyze quality data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and compliance gaps; prepare and distribute quality metrics reports.
- Act as a liaison during third-party audits (e.g., BRC, GFSI) and regulatory inspections (e.g., FDA); ensure proper documentation and follow-up for findings.
- Manage the “hold and release” program, ensuring timely disposition of materials and products.
- Collaborate with the sanitation team to ensure compliance with hygiene and sanitation standards, support verification activities.
- Monitor and maintain calibration records for lab and quality inspection equipment, coordinate calibration schedules.
- Oversee the review, revision, and distribution of controlled documents to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
- Support the investigation and resolution of customer complaints related to product quality; document findings and ensure follow-up actions are implemented.
- Achieve PCQI certification; coordinated and sponsored by the company.
Physical Requirements
- The employee must be able to walk, stand, squat or kneel and to bend on an occasional basis
- The employees must occasionally lift/push/pull or carry up to fifty (50) pounds, and should be able to lift 10-15 pounds on a regular basis
- The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairways a regular basis
- Requires the ability to frequently push and pull carts long distances.
- The employee must be able to work in a hot bakery environment
- The employee must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, flour, and yeast materials
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Compensation
The range for this position is $25-$27/hour.
