Requirements
  • Education/Certification: Must meet the standards of Qualified Mental Health Professional - (QMHP - R) with the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) - more information can be found at MHACBO website. QMHP - R within 30 days of hire, active QMHP - R, and/or licensed Board of Oregon (LPC, LCSW, PHD, etc.) AND Masters degree in psychology or Masters degree in clinical social work or counseling or Masters degree in a behavioral science field
  • A driver’s license is required
  • This position requires a Background Investigation, which may include being fingerprinted
  • Preferred: Appropriate Oregon Licensing Board LCSW, LCP etc.
  • Education/Certification (continued): Masters degree in psychology or Masters degree in clinical social work or counseling or Masters degree in a behavioral science field
Responsibilities
  • Provides direct mental health services to students, their families, and school staff to address a range of mental, behavioral, social, and familial challenges
  • Services include triage and referral to community services, outreach and engagement
  • Conducts mental health assessments to determine a DSM diagnosis, and then develops a corresponding service plan
  • Enrolled clients may receive individual, group and/or family therapy, psycho-educational group therapy, environmental intervention, case management and care coordination
  • Clinicians utilize outcome based care to inform and track clinical progress
  • Has knowledge and utilization of clinical tools for assessment
  • Ensures all clinical documentation is completed within required time-lines according to federal, state, department and division policies and procedures
  • Clinicians shares clinical information with the Multnomah County Student Health Center program and other partners per program guidelines and policies
  • Understands African Americans cultural/racial/ethnic factors, including systemic advantage or disadvantage; generational trauma, and any factors related to non dominant culture affecting mental health and treatment
  • Provides guidance and planning to a variety of school staff, including principals, administrators, counselors, psychologists, and teachers
  • Consults with individuals like physicians, child welfare workers, and juvenile justice personnel on mental health matters
  • Clarifies different levels of mental health care and helps interpret diagnostic terms and psychological tests to aid in case planning
  • Provides preventive mental health services (classroom presentations about conflict resolution, parent education presentations, parenting classes, etc.) to school age children, adolescents and families and the community at large
  • Collaborates with school staff for time limited psycho-educational groups or facilitation of support groups that serve a preventative, educational or outreach service related to positive mental health development
  • Participates in group supervision with the clinical supervisor or lead for the purpose of reviewing clinical cases
  • Attends required meetings and trainings
  • Completes all required County, department, division and program administrative data (time sheets, mileage, etc.)
  • Prepares and collects all required County, department, division and program quantitative data for tracking, contract compliance, and key result purposes
  • Supervises graduate interns and completes evaluations in collaboration with course instructor
