Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1 year of experience in transportation, logistics, maritime, cruise, freight, real estate development, asset management, construction management, management consulting, urban planning and/or economic development. At least 2 years of experience in a related field preferred.
  • Experience with asset/property management, lease administration, and tenant relations preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with attention to detail and creativity.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information accurately.
  • Strong quantitative skills, including experience with Excel for budgets or financial statements. Financial modeling is a plus.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and independently across all levels of the corporation.
  • Ability and willingness to deliver presentations.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in New York City, economic development, real estate, maritime, renewable energy, transportation, and infrastructure issues preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • New York City real estate experience preferred.
  • Experience and fluency with MRI property budgeting software (or similar products, such as Yardi) preferred.
  • New York City residence is required within 180 days of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the asset-based initiatives in the PWT Portfolio (which may include OSW and marine freight initiatives). Responsibilities include lease administration, tenant relations, property management, project management, procurement, negotiations, and business development initiatives.
  • Oversee landlord’s design and construction activities for the portfolio as required.
  • Prepare annual portfolio operating budgets and track actual portfolio performance compared to the approved budgets.
  • Lead internal and external teams in securing funding for design and construction projects, including identifying funding opportunities and preparing applications for such funding.
  • Develop and manage near-term and long-term asset plans for assets in the PWT Portfolio.
  • Support the activation of City assets or EDC-managed properties for EDC’s goals, as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships that support project and organizational goals.
  • Lead and influence project teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Contribute to the completion of specific projects across the PWT group.
  • Assist the Portfolio Managers across the PWT Group, as needed.
  • Work across the PWT portfolio on freight and maritime initiatives to expand New York City’s waterfront and landside freight.
  • Collaborate with EDC Legal (including the City’s Law Department), Contracts and Budget teams to advance ongoing and new projects.
  • Interpret and apply NYCEDC policies and procedures accurately.
  • Other duties as assigned.
