The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical, detail oriented professional to join the team as a Treasury Operations Manager at Schonfeld in our Miami office working with a well-established team with a specific focus of supporting operation processes for the treasury functions. You will be tasked with setting up and overseeing day-to-day support functionality as it relates to cash movement instruction and cash transactions life cycle, a rare and exciting opportunity to create something new and utilize your experience to implement best in class operational policies and procedures. You will be a team player who can use their strong interpersonal skills to deliver strategic objectives through building scalable and efficient solutions. Collaborating amongst distinguished operational teams across the globe, along with Product and Technology to derive innovative and best-in-class solutions to our complex trade capture and operational reporting systems.
What you’ll do
The individual will be responsible for successful operational delivery, working in a fast-growing operations team. You will be responsible for day-to-day deliverables, which includes support of commodities trading and operational processes to ensure front-to-back support of the trade life-cycle management. Ability to participate in process improvements and project initiatives to deliver firm initiatives and strategies that are scalable and efficient.
Some of the key responsibilities are:
- Manage and support daily operational balance sheet movement; work with Fund Administrator, Prime Brokers, Brokers and Third-party service providers to make sure all transfers follow the same standard booking life cycle and comply with the firm policy.
- Liaise with various business units within Schonfeld especially Treasury, Fund Accounting and Technology to implement best practices on Treasury Operations build out, systems and workflows.
- Scope and facilitate across various teams to assist with building infrastructure needed to support our current and future PB, ISDA, counterparty landscape.
- Manage team projects such as onboarding new counterparty, facilitating daily position transfers, fund restructuring, process development and automation, and items of the like.
- Assist Portfolio Finance in daily reconciliation of items such as, but not limited to, dividend enhancements, margin lending calculations, pay-to-holds, and take no action charges with brokers. Ensure all charges and fees are reflected accurately across all systems.
- Help manage and set checks and balances on errors/alert management, stand up tooling to diminish operational risk.
- Oversee daily fund wire processing and enhance current OTC settlement and cash management workflows.
- Work collaboratively in a global virtual environment.
What you’ll bring
What you need:
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience working in an Operations team preferably at a hedge fund/prime brokerage.
- Solid experience with the trade life cycle in Hedge Fund
- Experience in UMR process, SWIFT protocol.
- Excellent Communication skills, interpersonal skills, and management capabilities.
- Self-driven, entrepreneurial, and excellent in problem solving.
- Ability to continually prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, fast paced environment
- Experience leading and building out teams
- Client Service orientation with a professional presence; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently and without direction as well as collaboratively with colleagues in various regions and positions.
- Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related degree
- Advanced Excel with VBA and SQL.
We’d love if you had:
- Product knowledge to include FX, fixed income, repos, futures, credit and other macro-based products
- Experience working in a multi-strategy, multi-PM complex fund structure
- System knowledge of Geneva, Enfusion and Traiana
