The Role

This is a full-time Associate role based in San Francisco. As an Associate, you will work as part of the Real Estate deal team focused on North American investments.

Core Responsibilities

• Conducting due diligence on investment opportunities, including in-depth analysis on various types of real estate assets, including detailed valuation, financial modeling, market analysis, benchmarking, etc.
• Developing and maintaining financial models (Excel and Argus), forecasting and analyzing cash flows, capital structure, and formulating acquisition / disposition strategy for existing assets and new investments
• Preparing investment memoranda to support investment decisions, strategy, and returns
• Reviewing and conducting market research to formulate opinions on market conditions and to support underwriting assumptions
• Conducting and attending in-person, site-level diligence
• Interfacing and negotiating with counterparties, operating partners, management teams, in addition to brokers and advisors

Preferred

• 2-4 years of real estate private equity, finance or real estate investment banking experience
• Possess superior finance, accounting, valuation, modeling, and Excel skills as well as a critical problem-solving experience
• Keen interest in the financial and real estate markets with good commercial instincts
• Self-starter who requires little direction
• Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in a high-volume environment
• Strong sense of urgency; ability to execute quickly and efficiently with strong attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Structured problem solver who is able to synthesize sophisticated information from a variety of sources into implementable recommendations and solutions
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams
• Strong prioritization and project management skills
• Comfort working in a high growth, iterative environment

Compensation

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $150,000 and $200,000. The base salary offered to the selected candidate will be commensurate with a candidate’s relevant experience and other qualifications for the position, as determined by Sixth Street in its sole discretion.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and a competitive benefits package. Benefits offered currently include health, life, long-term and short-term disability insurance and a 401(k) plan. In addition, this role is eligible for paid public holidays (NYSE calendar), paid sick days pursuant to local laws, and additional reasonable time off subject to manager approval.

If a job offer is extended for a location other than San Francisco, the salary range may differ based on the location.
