Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of paralegal experience, a mix of in-house and private practice experience preferred
- Great attention to detail and strong decision-making abilities
- Ability to work with team members at all levels, sometimes under pressure, while remaining proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Experience with e-discovery, Macs, GSuite, Adobe, Microsoft Office, Salesforce and JIRA are a plus
- A team player attitude and skills to help achieve team goals
- Interest in learning, and developing expertise in, new systems and subjects
Responsibilities
- Process, research, manage and track all incoming litigation matters (e.g. demands, lawsuits and arbitrations); including: updating case files, assisting with case-related communications and invoice/payments, maintaining the litigation calendar, and other administrative tasks
- Implement litigation holds and ensure compliance with Block's document retention policy
- Manage discovery requests and assist with discovery production (e.g. interrogatories, subpoenas and document requests), including collection of documents
- Review and process incoming mail, including service of process
- Track, research, and respond to customer complaints escalated to our legal department
- Help draft and submit responses to requests for information from government agencies, and in response to legal demands
- Work with our internal product, business, and compliance teams, as well as with external advisors and experts
