Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Supply Chain, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace engine component supply chain management, manufacturing, industrialization, or similar high-spec industries
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership and team management experience
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes (casting, machining, coatings, additive manufacturing) and materials (Inconel, titanium alloys, ceramics, composites), or experience in regulated industries
  • Proven skills in cross-functional collaboration, communication, risk assessment, problem-solving, and project management (technical planning, cost control, risk mitigation)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence complex, multi-site projects involving suppliers, partners, and sites; acting as a change and transformation agent
  • Familiarity with TRL/MRL frameworks, industrial maturity models, and risk assessments
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), sourcing tools, and suppliers/partner performance tracking systems
  • This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
Responsibilities
  • Provide management direction for an engine/demo model as part of PMT; documents product requirements such as cost, weight, producibility, direct maintenance costs, resource planning, development and monitoring of milestone plans and schedules
  • Tracks and manages program risks identified in the risk management process
  • The PMT is active throughout the life of the product from preliminary design, demonstrators or prototype, development, production, entry into service and maintenance/sustainment. The PMT authorizes the creation of modules, detail, and specialty IPTs
  • Accountable for all procurement and manufacturing activities of critical engine components, modules, assembly, tooling, and test systems for new programs until project completion (demonstrator programs, archetypes 1-4) or RLPM Gate C (archetypes 5-10)
  • Lead, with the Advanced Industrialization OPE, Leads, and Industrial Engineers, the planning and execution of RLPM gates and production readiness deliverables, aligned with the production plan
  • Define make, buy, or partner strategies for all new components, understanding technical and operational requirements and onboarding new partners, suppliers, and advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., precision casting, superalloy machining, coatings, additive manufacturing)
  • Collaborate with industrialization engineers to evaluate suppliers, partners, and production/assembly & test sites based on quality, cost, reliability, capacity, capability, and future technologies
  • Identify dual/multi-sourcing strategies and work with industrial engineers and OPE to define risk mitigation plans and factory standard costs (FSC)
  • Managing negotiations of critical long-term agreements prior to new production awards: Including product pricing, non-recurring costs, development schedules, repair and overhaul agreements, tooling, and terms & conditions
  • Collaborate with the partnership team to develop risk-sharing models for industrial development projects
  • Ensure delivery assurance: initiate procurement or production launches of components, modules, and engine assembly & test; drive suppliers, partners, and sites to meet promised delivery dates; manage line of balance and work-in-progress reports and communicate status accurately to stakeholders
  • Engage suppliers, partners, and sites early in product development to identify opportunities for optimal design, efficiency, and cost reduction through value engineering (DfC, DFM, DFA)
  • Work with Cost Controller Engineering, and Advanced Industrialization Leads to establish the program’s cost baseline, track FSC evolution, and identify alternative design and manufacturing solutions to improve margins and mitigate risks, leveraging PMT as needed
  • Ensure suppliers, partners, and sites have Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) maturation plans and delivery schedules supporting program gates and ramp-up, securing future capacity, capability, infrastructure, and resources
  • Identify required CapEx projects and investments for tooling, special processes, test infrastructure, and new technology deployment; collaborate with OPE and Cost Controller to finalize business cases
  • Support Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and MRL assessments for new technologies
  • Provide project management and cross-functional program support: work closely with PMT members in the project and core engineering, aftermarket, supply chain, manufacturing, and assembly & test to ensure alignment and facilitate development from concept to program goes or project completion
  • Lead staff meetings manage individual development plans, set objectives and priorities, support the team by removing obstacles and escalating issues timely
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with aerospace engine programs (civil or military)
  • Expertise in performance management, individual development plans, and coaching
  • Knowledge of automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 concepts
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM tools (CATIA, Siemens NX), PLM (Teamcenter), digital manufacturing platforms, and data analytics tools
  • Ability to lead teams across multisite and international supplier and partner networks
  • Proficiency in Polish is an asset
  • Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, or PMP are an advantage

Air Canada's A321XLR fleet to feature Collins Aerospace Aurora suites and economy seats

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, and Air Canada have announced that Air Canada's new Airbus A321XLR fleet will feature Collins seating throughout. Each aircraft will have 14 Aurora business class suites and 168 Meridian+ economy seats. The custom lie-flat Aurora suites, unveiled at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, are designed to provide a widebody business class experience on single-aisle aircraft. The suites' proprietary shape maximises passenger living space whilst expanding galley capacity for long-haul service. The Meridian+ economy seats incorporate widebody design principles with contoured architecture to provide additional space for passengers. Air Canada has selected enhanced seatback options for improved stowage, inflight entertainment and power supply. The first of 30 Air Canada A321XLRs will enter service this spring.

RTX's Raytheon unveils event-based mid-wave infrared camera for real-time high-speed threat tracking

Raytheon, an RTX business, has successfully demonstrated a first-of-its-kind event-based mid-wave infrared camera that tracks high-speed objects in real time whilst reducing processing and power demands. Unlike traditional cameras that capture full frames, the event-based camera tracks only pixel-level motion, producing a continuous stream of events. During a demonstration in Northern California, the camera tracked multiple targets including ground vehicles, aircraft and live fires by capturing rapid motion unachievable with conventional infrared cameras. By reporting only changes in motion rather than full image frames, it delivered near-instantaneous activity views. Developed under DARPA's FENCE programme, the technology has potential applications in battlefield awareness, missile guidance and surveillance. Raytheon is now exploring follow-on demonstrations across broader mission scenarios.

RTX secures $6.6B F-35 engine contract and releases open-source cyber defense toolkit

RTX has secured a multibillion-dollar contract for F135 engine production supporting the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter programme, whilst its subsidiary BBN Technologies released Maude-HCS, an open-source cyber defence toolkit funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Pratt & Whitney wins $6.6B F135 engine contract to boost F-35 production

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, has been awarded a $6.6 billion contract for lots 18-19 of the F135 engine, which powers all F-35 Lightning II variants. The contract modification includes $3.8 billion for production, engines, spares, modules and support services. The company is investing heavily to increase production capacity, having committed over $1 billion in the past five years to expand and modernise facilities. These investments have increased current F135 production rates by 20% over previous contract rates. The F135 programme supports over 66,000 jobs across 47 US states and generated more than $9 billion in domestic economic impact in 2025. Pratt & Whitney has delivered over 1,400 production F135 engines for the F-35 programme, which serves 20 allied nations worldwide.
