Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required; additional qualifying audio visual system experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis for up to four years.
  • Three years of audio visual system experience are required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Knowledge of audio visual systems and equipment is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products is required.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws is required.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining a commitment to customer service is required.
  • Ability to operate test equipment, machinery, and AV equipment; use power tools; work at heights using ladders and scaffolding; drive a motor vehicle; perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; lift up to 50 pounds; manipulate up to 100 pounds with assistance; transport and stock supplies and materials; wear personal protective equipment; and work from a lift up to twenty feet in height is required.
Responsibilities
  • Support classroom technology and facilitate AV operations in formal and informal learning spaces.
  • Assist faculty users and local department staff with instructional technology infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support for the operation, maintenance, monitoring, testing, and repair of complex networked AV equipment and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot Crestron control processors, touch panels, routers, audio digital signal processors, and Crestron peripherals supporting instructional technology classrooms.
  • Review requirements and design classroom AV systems.
  • Build and install new classroom AV systems.
  • Perform tests and pilot installations of viable technologies.
  • Produce required documentation.
  • Work evenings, nights, weekends, or different shifts for extended periods when required.
  • Work at the normal work location or an alternative location during catastrophic events, weather emergencies, or other operational emergencies to maintain continuity of university services.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency with rack fabrication and wiring.
  • Strong understanding of signal flow, signal formats, and transportation protocols.
  • Knowledge of Crestron configuration and its software suite.
  • Knowledge of audio digital signal processors, including Q-SYS and Biamp.
  • Knowledge of wireless microphone systems.
  • Knowledge of AV system commissioning.
  • Knowledge of EDID and HDCP.
  • Knowledge of networking for audio/video over IP, Dante, AES67, and NDI.
  • General networking knowledge.
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist certification and other industry certifications.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment with multiple project timelines and on one's own initiative; self-motivation and flexibility.
  • Skills in collaboration, consultation, communication, customer support, data analysis, and time management.
