The Simons Foundation Human Resources (HR) team is seeking an intern who is interested in learning about many aspects of HR at a non-profit foundation. The intern may participate in learning opportunities in recruitment, employee engagement, learning and development, and/or benefits.

The HR intern will work onsite in our offices in New York City. The expected schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This temporary internship is expected to run from May 27 until August 14.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct internet research and update resources and contact information on spreadsheets accordingly.
• Complete online trainings and provide written summaries and feedback.
• Read relevant HR articles and provide written summaries.
• Create one page information sheet for candidates visiting the office.  
• Research relevant HR vendors as needed.
• Archive, scan, and file documents.
• Format and update documents and templates as needed.
• Audit and organize data in HR systems.
• Attend team meetings and take meeting minutes when requested.
• Assist with additional tasks and projects as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is required.
• Skilled in organizing information, data, and files.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to the responsibilities of the team.
• Interest in exploring a career in human resources. 
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and discretion.
