Position Description:

We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Information System Security Officerto support compliance and strengthen the security posture of systems operating under the Risk Management Framework (RMF). The selected candidate will oversee and maintain 8–10 System Security Plans (SSPs) and play a key role in supporting accreditation, continuous monitoring, and security documentation for complex computing environments.

This position is part of a dynamic program focused on rapid prototyping, advanced technology development, and agile solutions in support of data-intensive analysis and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the operational security posture for multiple information systems.
• Perform continuous monitoring of system compliance, risks, and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct regular audits and support remediation of findings.
• Prepare systems for security reaccreditation, ensuring documentation is current and complete.
• Apply the principles and controls outlined in NIST 800-53 and follow RMF guidance.
• Assist with the implementation of security policies and enforce security standards.
• Collaborate with system owners and technical staff to assess the impact of system changes on security posture.
• Contribute to vulnerability mitigation planning and incident response readiness.
• Track and update POA&Ms and other compliance artifacts.

Required Skills:

•IAM Level I certification (DoD 8570-compliant).

•  Hands-on experience with:

• Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• NIST 800-53 security controls
• Security documentation and reaccreditation
• Enterprise system auditing and vulnerability assessments

•  Familiarity with STE/STN requirements.

•  Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must hold an active clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of professional experience

• This position involves sedentary work with physical requirements expected for at least 50% of the time. Essential functions include prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and talking.
