Job Details:
Purpose statement
This position is responsible for supporting student leadership development opportunities for on-campus residents. This position will be directly supervised by the Manager for Student Leadership and Advising. This position will assist in planning events for students to develop their leadership skills. This position will also assist in planning various student-involved events on campus. Additionally, this position will be responsible for co-creating and implementing the assessment plan related to student leadership development.
Responsibilities
Plan leadership retreats and create opportunities for leadership development and team building.
Co-create and implement assessment plan for students participating in leadership development opportunities.
Research and share resources with student leaders and advisors.
Support and assist the Manager for Student Leadership and Advising with development and implementation of student leadership opportunities for Residence Life.
Present small and large scale programs, activities, and training for students and staff.
Attend departmental meetings.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Admitted to the University of Texas at Austin’s Graduate Program
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate students enrolled for master's and/or Doctoral degree in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy.
Graduate students with experience or background in housing and Residence Life.
Salary Range
$17.75 per hour
Working Conditions
Driving a UT vehicle is considered a marginal task and employees will be asked to complete the driving requirement
Work Shift
9-month assignment starting mid-August – mid-May with mandatory training that starts mid-July.
During the academic year this position is typically 20 hours per week, hours are scheduled between 9:00AM – 5:00PM, Monday – Friday with some evening and prescheduled weekend hours.
