Requirements
  • An ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in a discipline-specific field of study: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting.
  • Knowledge of control system application software development methodologies.
Responsibilities
  • Interface with clients and external partners.
  • Plan and direct work and manage a project budget from a discipline design perspective on large complex projects.
  • Support the Project Manager in proposal development, man-hour planning, and project scheduling for the discipline scope of work on large or complex projects.
  • Conduct and lead field surveys of existing conditions and support field reporting.
  • Identify and resolve intermediate non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys.
  • Develop intermediate internal discipline design and engineering training presentations.
  • Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on advanced and complex projects with little oversight.
  • Provide lead and advanced support of construction activities, including requests for information responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reports.
  • Conduct quality checks of documents for intermediate and complex projects, including technical verification of design calculations and documentation, and drive overall project quality.
  • Provide mentorship to discipline Engineers I, II, and III and/or Designers I and II.
  • Lead a team of discipline staff in the execution of advanced projects, discipline design, and engineering.

  • Professional Engineer registration.
  • ISA Certified Automation Professional certification.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in discipline-specific software.
  • Advanced knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice manufacturing environments.
  • Advanced experience performing instrumentation and controls engineering calculations and developing and implementing instrumentation and control system designs.
  • Advanced experience implementing fundamental design aspects of control system schematics, panel fabrication drawings, and field wiring plans.
  • Advanced experience developing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • Advanced experience with the electrical code.
  • Advanced experience with other applicable industry standards.
  • Advanced experience with applicable mechanical and building codes.
  • Intermediate experience and knowledge designing Safety Instrumented Systems.
  • Proficiency with advanced internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination.
  • Proficiency with advanced coordination with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers.
  • Proficiency with advanced design calculations with limited supervision.
