Requirements
  • Doctoral Degree in the appropriate field or discipline, or the recognized terminal degree, or the equivalent foreign equivalent.
Responsibilities
  • Study autophagy functions in glia for breast cancer brain metastasis.
  • Utilize a variety of techniques including single cell RNA-seq, single nuclei RNA-seq, single cell lineage tracing, human induced pluripotent stem cell derived cerebral organoids, chemogenetics, clarity technique, patch clamp, super-resolution images, metabolic/molecular/cellular approaches to gain insights in autophagy’s functions in human developmental disorders and breast cancer brain metastasis.
  • Develop novel genetically engineered mouse models to study roles of autophagy genes in brain development and in progression of breast cancer brain metastasis.
  • Collaborate with students, faculty and staff from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in neuroscience research, cell and molecular biology, or cancer biology.
  • Experience in neural stem cell, cancer biology, signal transduction, metabolism, autophagy, glia cells, organoids, and genetic mouse models.
  • Experience in scRNAseq and snRNAseq is ideal.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
