Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED and a Technical Certificate in an engineering field are required.
  • Zero to seven years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required, preferably in a quality assurance capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to interact effectively with customers and internal and external operations.
  • Proficiency with desktop applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Task management and organizational skills are required.
  • The ability to read warehouse drawings and schematics, use measurement tools, record data, and create go/no-go gauges for quality assurance inspection activities is required.
  • The ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours per day is required.
  • The ability to work overtime with short notice during the week and possibly on weekends is required.
  • The ability to operate pump jacks is required.
  • The ability to support the third-party logistics team remotely during off-hours regarding quarantined parts is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • The ability to work with minimum supervision is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily sorting and rework activities to ensure smooth operations while coordinating with the quality assurance, delivery, and warehouse operations teams.
  • Complete sorting and rework activities for responsible products.
  • Participate in quality assurance meetings, implement activities, and provide activity status updates.
  • Complete ISO and IATF documentation for quality assurance activities performed at the warehouse.
  • Report or prepare reports for nonconforming products to improve product quality.
  • Oversee warehouse responses to abnormal conditions, including damaged shipments, wet containers, and warehouse-reported product accidents, by coordinating with quality assurance engineers, logistics, third-party logistics providers, and the delivery team.
  • Quarantine confirmed defective parts for appropriate disposition.
  • Monitor and update sorting and timesheet logs for warehouse quality assurance activities in coordination with quality assurance lead hands.
  • Assist the quality assurance team with monthly cost summaries and submit information to accounting to reconcile the Canada quality assurance budget.
  • Track suspect and certified materials reported by the plant and monitor implemented design changes.
  • Coordinate with quality assurance, design engineering, logistics, and production teams and support delivery and logistics activities involving container delays and design FIFO concerns.
  • Support quality assurance engineers with project documentation completion when required.
  • Inspect prototype trial parts to verify quality and compliance with drawing specifications when required.
  • Support PFS activities with quality assurance, design engineering, and logistics/production members to report quality and workability improvements to manufacturing plants.
  • Assist the CCSC2 quality assurance department with inventory control for quarantined material in the quality assurance area.
  • Apply appropriate signs to quarantined material.
  • Arrange quality assurance-related shipments through UPS or FedEx and return parts to manufacturing plants.
  • Retrieve and log incoming products for the quality assurance team when reported by third-party logistics providers.
  • Help ensure warehouse safety protocols are followed, including compliance by temporary associates.
  • Support the establishment and implementation of safety work standards and related safety items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support CCSC1, MBU, and SEWS Canada business requirements.
