Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial services operations is required, ideally with exposure to Portfolio Services, Middle Office, Investment Operations, or related asset management functions.
  • Strong understanding of one or more Portfolio Services disciplines, including Corporate Actions, Collateral Management, Securities Finance, Class Actions, Proxy Voting, Trailer Fees, Management Fees, or Billing.
  • Good knowledge of investment products, financial instruments, and operational processes across the asset management value chain, including their impact on funds, portfolios, clients, counterparties, and external service providers.
  • Proven ability to investigate complex operational issues, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate remediation, and drive sustainable resolution across teams, regions, and service providers.
  • Ability to operate in a global, matrix environment, communicate clearly, influence stakeholders, and build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk, controls, governance, audit readiness, regulatory obligations, and robust process ownership within a controlled Operations environment.
  • Strong analytical skillset, practical data analysis techniques, and ability to translate operational data into insights, controls, and management information.
  • Practical understanding of artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics concepts, with ability to identify meaningful use cases and partner with Technology to deliver them responsibly.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes across a global matrix organization.
  • Proactive approach to identifying control gaps and improving data quality frameworks.
  • Ability to bridge operational subject matter expertise with technology and artificial intelligence teams by translating business requirements into pragmatic, controlled, and measurable solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Support end-to-end delivery of Portfolio Services processes across Corporate Actions, Collateral Management and Securities Finance, Class Actions and Proxy Voting, Trailer Fees, Management Fees, and Billing.
  • Manage and strengthen daily business-as-usual processes, controls, and exception management across Portfolio Services, including event processing, margin and collateral workflows, securities lending and repo-related activities, proxy and class action events, fee calculations, invoice verification, and billing oversight.
  • Partner with Portfolio Management, Trading, Fund Accounting, Compliance, Risk, Technology, Finance, Coverage, custodians, triparty agents, external collateral managers, data vendors, and other service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery and resolve operational issues.
  • Maintain and enhance operational control frameworks through process ownership, accurate documentation, KPI/KRI monitoring, incident management, control execution, audit readiness, and timely escalation of potential risks.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize Portfolio Services workflows, reduce manual intervention, improve operational transparency, and embed scalable, resilient, and controlled ways of working.
  • Apply artificial intelligence, automation, workflow tooling, and data analytics to improve exception management, predictive controls, reconciliation, prioritization, vendor oversight, operational reporting, and management information.
  • Translate operational pain points into practical automation or artificial intelligence use cases and work with Technology, transformation partners, and operational subject matter experts to shape controlled, scalable, measurable solutions.
  • Support operational readiness for market changes, regulatory developments, new products, migrations, vendor changes, and platform enhancements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with operational event processing, exception management, reconciliations, fee or invoice oversight, collateral or margin workflows, proxy or class action events, or securities finance-related processes.
  • Experience with investment operations platforms, collateral or securities finance tools, corporate action systems, fee and billing platforms, workflow tools, or similar operations technology.
  • Experience with process automation, workflow design, digital tooling, Python, Power Automate, SQL, data visualization tools, or similar technologies.

NADBank returns to Swiss bond market with $141M issuance for US-Mexico border projects

The North American Development Bank has completed a CHF 125 million ($155 million) bond issuance in the Swiss market, managed by Deutsche Bank. The bond will settle on 29 September 2026, mature on 29 September 2034, and carry a 1.125% coupon rate. The proceeds will be swapped into Mexican pesos and US dollars to fund infrastructure projects in both Mexico and the US. NADBank's strong credit quality and increased investor base contributed to the favourable terms. Moody's and Fitch recently affirmed NADBank's credit ratings of Aa1/Prime-1 and AA/F1 respectively, both with stable outlooks. The international financial institution, equally capitalised by the US and Mexico, finances environmental infrastructure projects in the US-Mexico border region.

Google launches AI agent for banks with Deutsche Bank as design partner

Google Cloud has launched Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, an AI agent platform designed for regulated banking environments. The tool features a Financial Research Agent with over 50 specialised financial skills and connects to licensed data from providers including D&B, S&P Global, and others. Deutsche Bank served as the design partner and is deploying the agent in its Corporate Bank for German MidCorp clients. The bank plans to evaluate its use in Private and Investment banking divisions. Deutsche Bank completes $1.1B buyback, launches $560M program — can it sustain 60% payout target?

Deutsche Bank completed a €1 billion share buyback on 21 August after acquiring 35.7 million treasury shares at a volume-weighted average price of €28. The bank immediately launched a new €500 million buyback programme starting 25 August, scheduled to end no later than 11 December. The new programme is Deutsche Bank's first funded from current-year net profit. The bank reported second-quarter profit after tax of €1.9 billion, up 10% year over year, whilst first-half profit reached a record €4.1 billion. Deutsche Bank's Common Equity Tier 1 ratio stood at 13.9% at 30 June, within its target operating range of 13.5% to 14%. Management aims for a 60% total payout ratio covering dividends and buybacks as a percentage of net profit from 2026.

Thales issues $1.1B bond to finance Exail acquisition

Thales has issued a €1 billion bond in two tranches to finance its acquisition of Exail, announced on 6 July 2026. The bond consists of a €500 million tranche with a four-year term at a 3.50% fixed rate, and another €500 million tranche with an eight-year term at a 3.75% fixed rate. The issuance attracted strong investor demand and was oversubscribed by a diversified investor base.
