About the team:
Robinhood is looking for a Director of Corporate Development to help accelerate our roadmap by identifying, vetting, and executing acquisition opportunities and other potential transactions. In this role, you will develop a detailed understanding of our strategic priorities and market landscape, and work to identify high-potential acquisition opportunities. You will help build out Robinhood’s network and develop relationships that may lead to acquisitions or strategic investments in the future. You will work closely with deal sponsors and cross-functional leaders across Robinhood on all aspects of M&A, including developing the deal rationale, valuation analysis, deal structuring, negotiation, due diligence, and deal execution. You will present acquisition opportunities to company leadership & the board of directors, facilitate key acquisition decisions, and provide post-acquisition performance updates. The ideal candidate is strategic, relationship-oriented, analytical, creative, and results-oriented.
The preferred location for this position is in or around Robinhood’s offices in Menlo Park, CA, or New York City, NY with in-office work capabilities, as may be required by management.
What you’ll do day-to-day:
- Analyze Robinhood’s strategic landscape, gather competitive industry intelligence, develop the business case & rationale for key M&A opportunities, and advocate for them internally
- Manage transactions from end-to-end, including sourcing, negotiating, diligencing, closing, and facilitating a seamless integration process.
- Lead deal evaluation meetings, drive decision-making, and negotiate deals with objectivity, diplomacy, and effectiveness.
- Cultivate external relationships that provide the opportunity for potential future acquisitions or investments
- Help build scalable processes and shape the "operating system" of Robinhood’s Corporate Development team
About you:
- You have 10+ years experience in investing (hedge fund, private equity, family office, venture capital), corporate development, or finance
- You’re familiar with Robinhood & our industry. You enjoy managing your money on your phone!
- You tend to reason from first-principles, using data and analysis to draw conclusions
- You have exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to develop strong working relationships
- You’re resourceful, persistent and able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- You have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
US Zone 1: $242000 - $285000
US Zone 2: $213000 - $251000
US Zone 3: $189000 - $222000
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. You can view comp zones for our US office locations in the table below. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
