Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Geology or another related discipline, plus four years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.

Responsibilities
  • Use basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
  • Prepare technical work plans and reports.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and compare findings with relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Plan, execute, analyze, and report on environmental measures in natural systems.
  • Use standard field practices and basic field equipment to collect soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, and sediment samples; prepare samples for shipping; and complete chain-of-custody or similar paperwork.
  • Apply knowledge of chemistry, physics, biology, hydrology, and mathematics to explain observations.
  • Study contaminants and determine how to restore the environment.
  • Prepare basic data and scientific documents.
  • Perform unsupervised field tasks.
  • Direct staff in the execution of tasks.
  • Review analytical data for general quality indicators in routine analyses using well-defined guidelines.
  • Coordinate with task and project managers, on-site subcontractors, and field staff to support sampling, data collection, and field documentation.
  • Provide technical expertise and support.
