Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Five to ten years of professional software engineering experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical projects or small engineering teams is required.
  • Experience leading teams using Agile or similar delivery methodologies is required.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines and DevOps practices is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, high-quality software solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and offer architectural guidance to the engineering team.
  • Manage, mentor, and support a team of 2–8 software engineers, including providing performance feedback and career development.
  • Collaborate with product, design, operations, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Oversee system reliability, performance monitoring, testing strategies, and production support.
  • Contribute to documentation, development standards, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
  • Attend regular meetings with Product Management, Design and User Experience, Engineering, Operations, and Client Services teams, as well as occasional meetings with external application programming interface vendors and technology partners.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience managing or formally leading engineers is preferred.
  • Experience in high-growth startups or healthcare technology organizations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare or regulated industry environments, scalable distributed systems, and service-oriented architectures is preferred.
  • The ability to scale teams and systems in a high-growth environment is preferred.
