Rockstar Dundee is seeking an experienced Iconographer who possesses great attention to detail, technical capability and a passion for working with UI design systems.

This is a full-time permanent position be based in-office at our Rockstar’s unique game development studio in the heart of Dundee.

WHAT WE DO

• We aim to create innovative, world class visual design.
• We define and maintain a coherent design language across our games.
• We focus on conceptual design, art direction, aesthetics, design details and asset creation for UI, HUD and menus.
• We collaborate with multiple departments providing visual design solutions across all titles.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designing and documenting icons and pictogram suites for our games.
• Consideration for icon animation and user interactions.
• Production of UI art assets and image treatments.
• Export of UI art assets to game and testing in build.
• Documentation and maintenance of iconography and UI art assets for implementation.
• Support in the organization of assets within the game.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years’ professional experience in a design environment, or in a similar capacity within the games industry.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating applied iconography, UI art assets and knowledge of visual design.

SKILLS

• 2+ years’ experience in iconography systems and the production of UI art assets using industry-standard tools such as Adobe CC.
• Experience of managing and organizing UI art assets across teams and projects.
• Experience of documenting UI art assets and related production processes.
• Strong eye for detail paying close attention to consistency, accessibility, and usability.
• Great communication skills to work closely with our team based across the UK and US.
• Confidently present work, communicate ideas and design rationale.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, creative thinking, initiative and adaptability.
• Extremely disciplined, organized and dedicated with a constant drive for self development.
• Passion for playing and making games.

PLUSES

Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.

• Experience of working within design systems and related software (eg Figma, Sketch).
• Experience in the creation, management and export of UI art assets within a games environment.
• 3D design and animation experience.
• Familiarity with animation and UI motion design processes.
• Passionate about movies, pop culture, video games, and other relevant media.
