Requirements
  • Current New York State Occupational Therapy License (OTR)
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with children with special needs, ages birth through 21
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience providing supervision and feedback to clinicians
  • Proficient computer skills: MS Word, Excel, EMR
Responsibilities
  • Works closely and collaboratively with the Assistant Director and Clinical Director of the company to determine and delegate short-term and long-term clinical improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with Assistant Director and Clinical Director in the development and implementation of internal trainings for continuing education, compliance, and professional growth to all employees
  • Participate in collaborative team meetings clinical providers, clinicians, and paraprofessionals
  • Assisting in Managing the schedule, supervision, and evaluation of designated team members
  • Attend Professional Development Trainings, as required
  • Provide direct and/or indirect services to students and families, conduct evaluations, and/or provide coverage for staff absences as deemed necessary by their supervisors.
  • Up to ten administrative hours per week
  • Assisting the Assistant Directors for the following: Field phone calls/emails/texts from therapists; Report reading; Training new therapists: Interpreting and understanding IEPs; Log writing; Report writing; Guidance regarding communication with county coordinators/school districts /parents with concerns; Explanations of forms (meeting forms, request for meetings forms, how to determine appropriate ICD-10 codes, and CPT codes); Answer and assist them with questions ranging from clinical concerns to billing; Evaluation training; Direct observations of specific children who are difficult to either manage behaviorally or who have multiple needs (language, cognition, motor, etc.)

Family of Kidz provides a range of therapeutic and educational services for individuals with special needs across the lifespan. A multi-disciplinary team delivers services such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), special instruction, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and mental health support, all aimed at understanding each person’s needs and teaching skills that increase independence and improve quality of life. The approach centers on tailoring supports to the individual and coordinating multiple specialists under one umbrella to address behavioral, educational, and developmental goals. Unlike providers who offer limited services, Family of Kidz combines multiple therapies and supports in one coordinated program, helping clients progress from birth through adulthood. The goal is to help individuals with special needs overcome barriers to progress and gain new skills for greater independence and better outcomes.
