  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • 1-5 years accounting experience preferred
  • Excel proficiency preferred ( i.e. VLOOKUP's, pivot tables)
  • Accounting software experience (Microsoft Business Central or similar preferred)
  • CRM experience preferred
  • This is full-time, in-office position based out of LA (relocation expenses will not be provided)

Responsibilities
  • Leading and managing month-end/year-end close processes (including preparing and recording all journal entries for revenue related transactions)
  • Manage monthly reconciliations to ensure the accounting system (SR) and donor database (MCRM) are in sync and updated for any changes
  • Ongoing collaboration with the Development Team to ensure the data recorded in their donor database (MCRM) is correctly coded and updated
  • Assist the Development Team with any grant proposal and grant reporting needs, including preparing P&L spreadsheets and providing actual results as required
  • Assist with recording all non-monetary contributions (gift in kind)
  • Record banking and investment activity and manage reconciliations
  • Track and monitor all donation receivable accounts and follow up as needed
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard cash and other assets
  • Collaborate with finance management and operational stakeholders as needed to ensure proper accounting treatment is applied to unique situations
  • Assist with annual financial audit process and year-end 990 preparation
  • Identify, develop, and update TR accounting procedures and organizational standard operating procedures as necessary
  • Responsible for depositing all checks from donors and vendors (scanning electronically)
