Requirements
  • One to three years of experience as an Assistant Manager is preferred, with a minimum of six months as a Sales Associate required.
  • A valid Food Handler’s permit or ServSafe Certification is required where required by law or company policy.
  • Knowledge of operations and maintenance of equipment within the assigned stores is required.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and company-observed holidays as business needs require.
  • Ability to work a minimum of three second shifts per week opposite the General Manager to ensure management coverage during key operating hours.
  • Reliable transportation and telephone access are required.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, if applicable.
  • Ability and willingness to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with other team members.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods, with the ability to perform the listed walking, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling activities.
  • Physical attendance at the primary work location is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the total operation of the assigned Pump & Pantry location, including all licensed programs and business units within the store.
  • Assist with hiring, discipline, and terminating personnel in partnership with the District Manager and Corporate Human Resource Department.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly operational routines, including back-office functions, bookwork, and inventory control, are completed timely and accurately.
  • Ensure customer needs are met and support execution of the company’s customer service standards.
  • Supervise cash control and bank deposits.
  • Ensure team members follow proper food safety procedures and safe handling and storage practices in compliance with state and federal food safety regulations.
  • Address personnel, customer, and facility concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure store standards are maintained through cleanliness, in-stock conditions, and fast, friendly customer service.
  • Support effective scheduling practices, daily management of labor exceptions, adherence to weekly labor budgets, and overtime management.
  • Ensure completion of all required team member training.
  • Ensure food products are properly stored, code dated, and maintained at appropriate temperatures.
  • Uphold company policies and assist with performance management as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining required records related to merchandise, personnel, and fuel operations.
  • Attend management meetings and required training sessions.
  • Teach, coach, train, and represent the F.I.R.S.T. engagement model.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
