Job Description:
Manages diverse administrative functions usually for a very large, complex department or for a complete line of business that may be regional or national in scope, often requiring associates in one or more location. Functions managed may include: financial control/budgeting and consolidation, personnel processes, audit/compliance, premises, and coordination of certain projects, associate training, service quality, process improvement, business continuity, or communication. Consults with senior management in evaluating current methods and developing strategies to implement changes and improvements. Requires a thorough knowledge of the department or business units functional area or products. Working knowledge of general bank policies, programs and procedures and financial/accounting practices. Generally has full management responsibility over a relatively large team and may manage one or more levels of managers.
Leads the support/administrative functions for a somewhat large department usually at a local level. Responsibilities may include budget analysis and recommendations, operations analysis, identification and resolution of work flow issues, associate training, service quality, process improvement. Resolves personnel, audit and/or budget issues by researching and analyzing unusual problems, administers bank programs and policies and provides interpretation to department. Requires an in-depth knowledge of bank policies and programs and of the departments functional operations. May direct workflow activities.
Line of Business job Description:
- As part of the Global Markets Operations (GMO) Business Management team, you will serve as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team whose directive is to support the organization’s financials, business allocations, communications, and reporting. The business management team is responsible for driving enhanced measurements of every phase of the Global Markets Operations value chain across over 5,000 employees globally. In addition to building relationships with our Finance and HR partners, in the business management role you will gain exposure to, and work closely with, the Head of GMO, Business Management Executive, and the GMO senior leadership team to deliver on the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing and contributing to headcount reporting including financial management, forecasting, cost allocations as well as people and resource management for one (Global Asset Services) or more Division of GMO.
- Driving and managing the organizational health strategy and target operating model for one (Global Asset Services) or more Divisions of GMO
- Creating and delivering strategic reviews of business model and target state plans
- Working with Leadership to deliver updates to Operations and Markets business leaders on strategic plans and deliverables.
- Contributing to initiatives to streamline business management processes and workflows with a focus on enabling overall department strategy.
- Working with the Head of Global Asset Services to effectively communicate the strategy to a broad set of internal and external audiences to build consensus and firm-wide engagement.
- Partnering with business management leads across GMO to create a consistent organizational health strategy and ensure appropriate execution across the global organization.
- Help to drive the strategy of Global Asset Services forward.
Required Skills:
- Previous experience in business support preferred.
2-3 years previous experience in business support, forecasting, and cost allocations
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills as the role requires engagement with senior executives across the GMO Leadership organization as well as the wider GMO organization.
- Analytical: Ability to critically evaluate info gathered from multiple sources, reconcile variances, and present complex data in a clear and logical manner specifically tailored to the audience
- Problem Solving: Ability to analyze problems, recommend options, and execute solutions
- Proven leadership in coordination efforts across multi-business unit stakeholders to orchestrate cohesive oversight and process management.
- Teamwork: Team player with ability to take initiative/ownership of tasks and partner across teams.
- Motivated: Have an aptitude to learn quickly under pressure and be self-motivated.
- Facilitator: Ability to plan and facilitate meetings as well as prepare communication materials
