Requirements
  • Must be local to Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and be willing to commute to the office at least four days a week.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in an enterprise IT organization, in a technical support role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), network protocols, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA) may be preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to collaborate with technical and non-technical people at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site IT support at Fortra's Corporate Headquarters located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota
  • Provide advanced support for infrastructure-related issues, acting as an escalation point for complex technical challenges.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, providing expert-level support and rapid response to critical infrastructure issues outside of normal business hours.
  • Manage the operational aspects of network, storage, server management, virtualization, and cloud services, ensuring efficient maintenance and optimization.
  • Develop and maintain documentation processes for infrastructure technologies, focusing on continuous improvement and clarity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Security, DevOps, and CloudOps, to address and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Assist in evaluating vendor proposals, conducting cost/benefit analyses, and participating in procurement processes for IT solutions.
  • Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, monitor infrastructure health, and respond to incidents to maintain system reliability and availability.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members, sharing knowledge and best practices in infrastructure management and support.
  • Proactively identify and implement enhancements in the infrastructure for scalability, security, and performance improvements.
  • Participate in the development and testing of disaster recovery plans to ensure infrastructure resilience and business continuity.
  • Stay updated with the latest infrastructure technologies and trends as well as evaluate and recommend new solutions to improve the organizational IT infrastructure.
