Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in capacity planning and resource management, with a strong focus on cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, etc.)
  • Proven track record of leading capacity management initiatives and implementing capacity planning systems at a global scale
  • Expertise in cloud resource management, infrastructure planning, and cost optimization in a hyperscaler environment
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, capacity forecasting, and resource management tools
  • Experience with capacity planning and management platforms and tools
  • Strong knowledge of performance monitoring, utilization analysis, and scalability in cloud environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus
  • ITIL or other relevant capacity management certifications are advantageous
Responsibilities
  • Lead and drive global demand and capacity planning and management processes across the supply chain organization
  • Define, document, and continuously improve capacity management strategies to ensure the right amount of resources are available to meet current and future business demands
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to align capacity strategies with business and technical goals
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on capacity planning, demand planning, and management systems, with a specific focus on cloud hyperscaler environments
  • Provide expert guidance on cloud resource allocation, scaling strategies, and cost management to ensure optimal capacity utilization while minimizing wastage and risk
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in cloud resource management, capacity forecasting, and automation
  • Lead the transformation of the entire demand and capacity planning, delivery, and management process, ensuring that it is optimized for speed, efficiency, and scalability, aligned with the needs of capacity deployment
  • Design and implement global supply chain processes across multiple regions, ensuring consistency and scalability across the enterprise
  • Re-engineer demand/capacity planning and delivery workflows to integrate emerging technologies and best practices that support AI-hyperscaler specific needs, such as automated sourcing, contract management, and data-driven decision-making
  • Analyze existing supply chain processes, identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and lead improvement initiatives utilizing process reengineering or automation
  • Work with IT teams to implement and integrate supply chain management solutions, ensuring smooth functionality and user adoption
  • Identify and implement process improvements, focusing on reducing cycle times and increasing the agility to support rapid changes in technology requirements
  • Partner with business units, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between business requirements and capacity planning processes
  • Conduct training, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to increase understanding and adoption of capacity management processes and tools
  • Act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams seeking advice on capacity-related processes, tools, and best practices
  • Develop systems that utilize advanced forecasting methods to predict capacity needs based on business growth, seasonal trends, and historical data
  • Implement capacity models that consider both long-term growth and short-term fluctuations, ensuring flexible resource allocation
  • Work with finance and procurement teams to optimize cloud capacity utilization, balancing cost and performance
  • Implement cost-effective strategies for capacity planning and resource scaling in cloud environments, ensuring maximum ROI
  • Continuously review resource usage to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, applying cost-saving measures without compromising performance
  • Coordinate with global teams to standardize capacity planning processes and tools while accommodating regional and business-specific needs
  • Lead cross-functional, cross-regional teams in the implementation of capacity management projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to global standards
  • Monitor and mitigate risks related to capacity management, ensuring that infrastructure resources are always aligned with business demand and performance expectations
  • Ensure that capacity management practices comply with industry regulations, company policies, and internal controls

Blue Owl JV secures $750m for CoreWeave

A joint venture led by Blue Owl has secured over $750 million to build data centers for AI cloud firm CoreWeave at the CTP campus in Chesterfield, VA. The venture, launched in August 2024, aims to deploy up to $5 billion for AI/HPC data center developments. Construction began in 2024 for an initial 120MW capacity, with delivery in 2025-2026.
