Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Six months to two years of similar or related experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a fast-paced customer service environment is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required, including verbal communication, the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, and high levels of professionalism.
  • Efficient clerical skills are necessary, including navigating a computer system and typing.
  • Attention to detail is necessary, including the ability to perform daily work functions with minimal errors.
  • The ability to recognize basic banking transactions, including account holds, delinquent loans, and account warnings, is required.
  • The employee must be able to bend, sit, and stand to perform primarily sedentary work, with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
  • The employee must be capable of climbing and descending stairs in an emergency.
  • The employee must be able to operate standard office equipment, including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
  • The employee must be able to routinely perform computer-based work for an average of six to eight hours per day when necessary.
  • The employee must work extended hours or travel off-site whenever required or requested by management.
  • The employee must maintain regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Responsibilities
  • Respond to incoming member requests through phone, personal teller machine, chat, video banking, email, and online banking messages, providing direct support.
  • Educate current and potential members about products and services that may benefit their financial needs while following Credit Union security protocols.
  • Provide prompt and professional financial service while complying with company policies, applicable laws and regulations, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control requirements.
  • Perform teller functions, including account history assistance, stop payments, wires, transfers, debit card maintenance, over-the-phone payments, digital wallet approvals, and account maintenance requests.
  • Perform teller functions through the personal teller machine as needed, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
  • Scan associated documents according to established time guidelines.
  • Develop knowledge of Credit Union products to open new accounts and shares with minimal errors.
  • Cross-sell lending products, including credit cards and consumer lending applications.
  • Refer members to lenders or additional departments when applicable.
  • Troubleshoot online banking functions, including initial setup and password resets.
  • Respond to each member’s online banking messages in a timely manner.
  • Respond regularly to assistance requests from other departments and branches to better assist members.
  • Assist in meeting or exceeding monthly branch goals.
  • Perform additional assigned duties.
