Job Summary:
We are seeking a Head of Growth Product to lead product-led growth strategy and execution focused on growing Octave’s user acquisition, engagement, and retention. In this role, you will collaborate closely with marketing, product, data, design and engineering teams to ideate, develop and optimize growth initiatives, including A/B testing, therapy client funnel improvements, and feature experiments. The ideal candidate will ensure alignment between product development and business goals to maximize filling therapist caseloads, scalability, and long-term success.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead the strategy and execution of product initiatives to drive user growth, engagement, and retention for the company.
- Partner with marketing, product, data, design, and engineering teams to identify and implement growth opportunities:
- Push boundaries through experimentation and innovation to unlock new opportunities for growth.
- Champion a scrappy, startup mindset: prioritize speed to insights and impact, which may require wearing multiple hats, doing own analysis and research, willingness to take big swings (vs. smaller iterative changes).
- Design, run, and analyze experiments (e.g., A/B tests) to optimize user acquisition and conversion funnels.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the user journey using quantitative, qualitative insights and usability testing.
- Continuously monitor key growth metrics to evaluate and iterate on strategies, adapting to changing market conditions and user behaviors.
- Prioritize and manage the development of new features or optimizations that impact growth.
- Ensure growth experiments align with user flows and customer experience principles, minimizing friction points across touchpoints.
- Provide thought leadership on infrastructure needs (e.g., testing and analytics tools, UX page builders, aspects of martech, etc).
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure product efforts align with business goals and user needs.
- Empathize with users (patients and providers) to design experiences that meet their needs while ensuring compliance with healthcare policies. This includes direct user testing & research to validate ideas prior to development.
- Opportunity to work independently or manage a small team of product managers in a player-coach format (75% player, 25% coach).
Preferred Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in consumer product management, growth roles, or product-led growth.
- Proven track record of leading new product experimentation iterating quickly to meet growth objectives.
- Demonstrated individual wins on improving funnel conversion and user retention.
- Previous startup experience required, comfortable in fast-paced environments with limited resources.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data tools like SQL, Google Analytics, and experimentation platforms.
- Ability to influence and gain commitment across cross-functional teams and with leadership.
- Experience in healthcare, digital health, or mental health services preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to align multiple stakeholders and drive execution, especially at leadership level.
- Empathy for mental health patients and providers with an understanding of health compliance and regulatory policies.
Bonus: Experience conducting user research to inform experimentation and product development.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to frequently communicate with others through virtual meeting applications such as Zoom and Google Meet.
- Must be able to observe and communicate information on company provided laptop.
- Move up to 10 pounds on occasion.

Starting pay for qualified applicants will depend on a combination of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is set forth below and this range may be modified in the future.
The salary range is for zone 1 (all states not in zone 2 or zone 3) $190,200 - $222,900.
The salary range for zone 2 (CO, HI, MD, RI) is $209,200 - $245,200.
The salary range for zone 3 (AK, CA, CT, MA, NJ, NY, WA) is $218,700 - $250,000.
All zones are eligible for equity in the form of stock options.
Additionally, this position is eligible for the following benefits: company sponsored life insurance, disability and AD&D plans. Voluntary benefits such as 401k retirement, medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, dependent care and commuter/parking options are also available. Octave offers generous Paid Time Off as well as paid parental leave benefits.
