Who We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a Public Relations Manager to strategize and execute PR and communications that support the Therabody brand image. This role will drive storytelling around the Therabody brand and its ecosystem of wellness solutions by working inter-departmentally to align business strategies as they pertain to external communications, managing PR agency relationships, developing PR campaigns, writing pitches and briefs, conducting interviews, and handling all aspects of PR activities.
This role will report into our VP of Public Relations and work closely with Executive leaders in addition to VP Brand Relationships, VP Brand Partnerships and Director of Marketing. Ideally, this person will have a network of strong contacts in all top-tier press outlets and the ability to quickly form new relationships with the media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft and execute impactful public-facing campaigns to promote our brand and activities.
- Direct and guide PR agencies to ensure seamless, consistent storytelling in key markets and outlets.
- Collaborate with internal Sales, Marketing, and Relationships team leaders to develop strategic media plans and outbound communication for key brand objectives.
- Write press releases, briefing docs, Q&As, fact sheets, FAQs, media invites, and all other communications relevant to press initiatives.
- Keep current on new and competitive promotional initiatives.
- Track and report on progress of ongoing PR campaigns.
- Engage in regular market research relevant to Therabody’s PR initiatives and campaigns.
- Liaise with journalist influencers, and other members of the media; pitch when needed to secure media coverage.
- Plan and execute press launches, education/trial sessions and other promotional events.
- Maintain up-to-date internal press contact list by collecting and editing the contact information of writers and other members of the media.
- Lead launch of and maintain media/press page on website.
- Ensure compliance with the company bylaws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Manage complex and sometimes unexpected communications challenges with professionalism and keep key stakeholders in the loop.
The Right Person Would Have:
- 3+ years of PR, Marketing and/or Communications experience.
- Creativity and sense of initiative.
- Experience at an agency or in-house PR at a brand (both are a plus!)
- Full understanding of media needs and media relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong multitasking skills; ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Experience working under the pressure of tight deadlines and multiple initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Use of good judgment in what you report and how you report it.
- Trustworthy to manage sensitive/confidential information.
- Proactive, reliable, responsible, and accurate with excellent attention to detail.
The annual base salary range for this position is from $90,000 - $130,000. This base pay range is for the U.S. and not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, candidate’s related work experience, business sector and geographic location. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus, although incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
