Grass Network (Wynd Labs) builds a decentralized data-access infrastructure for AI. Its Grass network lets individuals share unused internet bandwidth and earn rewards while the system gathers public web data at internet scale. AI companies and developers can access training and inference data—text, image, video, and audio—through this distributed network built on Solana, offering a user-owned alternative to centralized web crawlers and data providers. The Grass Foundation handles contractual and revenue flows, while the GRASS token supports value accrual and governance across the network. The platform’s commercial focus is expanding from training datasets to live context retrieval and real-time data infrastructure for AI inference, serving AI companies, academic institutions, and non-profits. The goal is to provide a scalable, user-owned data layer that underpins AI with transparent governance and decentralized data access.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Grass reported $17 million H1 2026 revenue, nearly seven times H1 2025.
  • The network reached millions of active nodes, with 150,000 users routing about 90% of traffic.
  • Grass plans first LCR launches in summer 2026, opening live AI-model data sales.

What critics are saying

  • July 7, 2026 revenue guidance relies on $15 million shifting into Q3 and H2 execution.
  • Stage 2 USDC payouts and the July 22, 2026 claim window intensify token and compliance risk.
  • AI-data demand concentration, rising $2-3 million monthly infrastructure spend, and 45 Wynd FTE create existential dependence.

What makes Wynd Labs unique

  • Grass owns infrastructure and customer contracts; Wynd Labs is only a core service provider.
  • Its residential-node network gathers public web data at internet scale, unlike centralized crawlers.
  • Live Context Retrieval targets real-time inference data, extending beyond training datasets on Solana.

Solana's GRASS network raises $4.5M from Polychain Capital despite looming token unlock risks

Grass Network, a Solana-based protocol enabling users to monetise unused internet bandwidth, has raised $4.5 million in a seed round led by Polychain Capital. Tribe Capital also participated in the funding. The platform positions itself as a decentralised web scraping protocol with AI data integrations. Its native token, GRASS, has attracted attention within the Solana decentralised physical infrastructure network narrative, supported by a substantial airdrop distribution and venture capital backing. However, the project faces potential market stability challenges from significant token unlocks scheduled through 2025. The unlocks could impact investor sentiment despite the platform's growth in web scraping and AI data applications. Grass Network leverages Solana's low transaction fees to appeal to developers and users.
