Requirements
  • A master’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, public administration, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six years of significant senior-level administrative experience with substantial responsibility for financial management, budgeting, and operations in a complex organization.
  • The position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
  • Knowledge of university financial systems, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • The ability to manage large, complex budgets and align financial resources with strategic priorities.
  • The ability to lead, supervise, and influence multidisciplinary teams.
  • The ability to analyze complex financial and operational data and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with others and build strong working relationships.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the financial and business operations of the College of Education and Human Development on behalf of the Dean.
  • Direct the preparation, administration, and monitoring of annual and multi-year operating and salary budgets, ensuring fiscal integrity, sustainability, and alignment with college and university strategic priorities.
  • Provide long-range financial planning and analysis, actively monitor resource allocations and operating fund requirements, and identify financial trends to support informed decision-making.
  • Oversee financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with applicable university, system, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Approve routine and complex financial transactions, including purchasing, vouchers, payroll, and personnel-related documents, under authority delegated by the Dean.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks impacting the college.
  • Prepare and submit recurring and special financial and administrative reports as required.
  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for college-wide administrative services, including finance, human resources, information technology, facilities, and business operations.
  • Establish standard processes, timelines, and service expectations and continuously evaluate administrative operations to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and customer service.
  • Lead, coordinate, and mentor professional staff, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing work environment in collaboration with university partners.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the College of Education and Human Development and certain administrative entities, including finance, information technology, facilities, and human resources.
  • Serve as the college Public Information Liaison Coordinator for all open records requests.
  • Represent the college on university committees and working groups related to finance, administration, and strategic initiatives.
  • Participate as a key member of the Dean’s executive leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, policy development, and institutional decision-making.
  • Advise the Dean, executive leadership, and college governance bodies on financial, administrative, and operational matters.
  • Monitor the overall financial and administrative condition of the college and implement proactive strategies to address emerging challenges and opportunities.
  • Promote transparency, accountability, and data-informed decision-making across college operations.
