  • Ability to use cleaning supplies and equipment, safety cutters, knives, latex gloves, and heat-resistant gloves.

  • Availability to work nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays, with variable scheduled hours and good attendance.

Responsibilities
  • Direct the operation of the service deli, including supervising and training personnel and ordering merchandise.
  • Champion company and division customer service programs to meet or exceed customer service goals.
  • Handle customer relations positively, including resolving customer complaints and promoting personalized service in the service deli.
  • Supervise the day-to-day functions of the service deli and conduct daily inspections of all service deli sections.
  • Initiate corrective measures to ensure product quality, product rotation, in-stock conditions, code-date standards, temperature control, sanitation, and safety compliance.
  • Assist with service deli duties including receiving, cleaning, preparing, cooking, slicing, and packaging products.
  • Implement promotional and seasonal displays and control shrink and expenses.
  • Complete and monitor daily log sheets, purchase reports, sales and labor paperwork, and other required records.
  • Maintain records on advertised-item movement.
  • Order, check, receive, and control inventory to maintain adequate inventory levels, product quality, and freshness and prevent the sale of out-of-code products.
  • Take periodic inventories, process administrative paperwork, and maintain accurate department records.
  • Maintain and organize the service deli work area, cooler, and freezer.
  • Merchandise products by implementing schematics, merchandising advertised items, following signing procedures, and monitoring product flow.
  • Comply with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, company policies, and health and food safety standards.
  • Handle reworked and reduced-to-clear items according to company policy.
  • Assist customers with special orders, make product suggestions, engage in suggestive selling, and make intercom announcements.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the sales floor, work areas, freezer, cooler, equipment, and retail cases.
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately and report customer complaints to the Store Director as appropriate.
  • Assist with implementing emergency procedures during equipment and computer software malfunctions.
  • Schedule service deli associates to ensure adequate coverage and service levels.
  • Ensure associates are trained and instructed in the proper performance of their duties.
  • Monitor associate performance and report observations to the Store Director.
  • Report associate complaints to the Store Director and assist with resolution.
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning associates, store sales, and other company information.
  • Perform all job duties safely, accurately, honestly, and with integrity.
  • Perform other necessary and required duties.

Albertsons closes 120-year-old Vons grocery store in California, cuts 65 jobs

Albertsons appoints McDonald's CIO Brian Rice to board, issues $2.1B in notes to fund digital push
