What you’ll be doing...
Live Science is looking for a Content Manager to help streamline the team’s workflow, and improve processes for our team of writers. The ideal candidate will be that elusive combination of fast, meticulous and detail-oriented. A fascination with science, an understanding of journalistic best practices and a great visual sense are also preferable. In this role, you will also be:
- Creating new articles in Vanilla, Future’s content management system (CMS)
- Being the liaison between development and editorial to raise and flag problems in the CMS, as well as leading any improvements that need to be made.
- Finding and editing images for new articles, galleries and features, and verifying image licensing
- Sending out and helping with strategy for our daily newsletter
- Curating the homepage and channel carousels
- Uploading video to our in-house video player system
- Identifying and updating older articles to best practice SEO and EEAT
- Soliciting expert biographies and adding expert boxes to articles, both old and new
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...
- You are a quick learner who is comfortable with new apps and programs
- You have a strong sense of how to present digital articles and UX
- Experience with photo editing software
- Meticulous, careful and thorough. Sub-editing experience preferred
- Fast worker and thrives on tight deadlines
- Past experience with a CMS
- Strong communication skills, and the ability to work with a global team
- Interest in science strongly preferred
- An understanding of basic journalistic ethics and best practice preferred
