Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a security or law enforcement-related field required
  • Computer competency and a working knowledge of budget preparation required
  • Incident Command System training must be completed within 180 days of hire
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must have completed a Law Enforcement Academy Program
  • Four years of related and progressively responsible system security experience required, including three years in a supervisory position
  • Must possess a LEOSA card or obtain a license or permit by the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office
  • Must undergo semi-annual firearms proficiency and Active Shooter Training; Firearms Training is a perishable skill that requires monthly offsite firearms training
  • On-duty carry of an approved concealable automatic firearm and OC-Gel required
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods; ability to restrain patients; able to run up several flights of stairs; able to carry weights over 50 pounds for 100 feet
  • Healthcare environment experience preferred
  • Accreditation and/or certifications related to security or law enforcement (implicit)
Responsibilities
  • Develops departmental plans and goals, assists in the establishment of operational and capital budgets, ensures department operates within allocated funds, prepares monthly variance reports
  • Interviews, hires, assigns, counsels, and fires staff in collaboration with contracted security company
  • Conducts performance evaluations and recommends personnel actions
  • Acts as resource for staff and conducts regular individual and group staff meetings
  • Prepares and submits payroll, provides, and maintains staff development plans
  • Develops standards for Security staff performance
  • Responds in an ARMED capacity to Active Shooter and Code Silver emergencies with escalation of force; relinquishes role when Newport Police or other sworn Law Enforcement Agency arrives
  • Evaluates reports, decisions, and performance of department against goals; recommends and implements department policies and procedures
  • Provides department-specific orientation for new Security Officers and general hospital orientation for all new employees
  • Serves on Environment of Care, Emergency Preparedness, External Partner Committee, Diversion Response Team, and System-Wide Workforce Safety Council
  • Assumes role of Security Branch Director in emergency preparedness drill exercises and actual emergencies
  • Oversees the Loss Prevention Program; monitors incident reporting; prepares monthly incident reports and follow-up
  • Retrieves and copies hospital security video recordings upon request from Facilities Director, Risk, hospital administration or other authorized agencies
  • Develops and implements programs to minimize security risks; develops and conducts Hospital Active Shooter tabletop exercises
  • Reviews and responds to Safety Net security-related medical event reports
  • Maintains departmental, financial, and record keeping systems
  • Maintains identification badge system and hospital badge access system
  • Implements, patrols, investigates problems, contracts surveillance, and other activities to provide a secure environment
  • Maintains integrity of the Valet Parking Program; coordinates security for parking and snow emergencies
  • Responds to Code Gray unarmed calls and coordinates an Intervention Team; teaches/delegates de-escalation training (SafetyCare) to staff
  • Participates in councils and quality improvement teams including Root Cause Analysis as required
  • Manages patient valuables/contraband safe
  • Maintains quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control per policies
  • Coordinates with hospital locksmith and approves requests for duplicate keys
  • Develops protocols with Newport Police Department and coordinates with NPD regarding armed security presence
  • Performs other duties as necessary

(“TriSalus” or the “company”), an oncology company in the process of going public through a business combination transaction (the “Business Combination”) with MedTech Acquisition Corporation (Nasdaq: MTAC) (“MedTech” or “MTAC”), today announced that it has expanded the reach of its ongoing Pressure-Enabled Regional Immuno-Oncology™ (“PERIO™-01” and “PERIO™-02”) clinical program.In recent months TriSalus has opened five new PERIO™-01 (NCT04935229) clinical trial sites, at Stanford University Hospitals, University of California Los Angeles, University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus, University of Washington Medical Center and University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, in addition to five previously activated sites.
