Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
  • At least 1 year of X-Ray experience
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R)
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing; sitting; walking; able to climb stairs (infrequent); able to work indoors continuously; able to work from elevated areas (frequent); able to work in confined spaces (infrequent); able to bend at the waist; able to squat; able to perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders (frequent); ability to lift and carry 15 lbs unassisted (infrequent); ability to lift/lower objects 15 lbs from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted (infrequent); ability to lift from 36 inches to overhead 15 lbs (infrequent); vision requirements (20/40 corrected in one eye or both, color vision, depth perception, etc.); hearing and tactile sensory function; respirator qualification; latex safe environment; olfactory sensory function (selected positions)
Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with image guided minimally invasive procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of disease
  • Obtain all equipment needed for a procedure
  • Position and image patients
  • Resolve equipment issues during procedures
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, radiation safety, interventional supplies, and equipment operation including fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and ancillary therapeutic devices
  • Prepare, administer, and document contrast given throughout procedure
  • Corroborate a patient\'s clinical history with procedure and ensure information documented and available for clinician
  • Provide patient care including communication, patient assessment, and patient monitoring
  • Post-process digital data for display or hard copy records, ensuring technical quality and proper identification
  • Periodically weekend and off hour call will be required
