Responsibilities
  • Run total store operations, primarily during closing shifts, when the Store Director and Assistant Store Director are absent.
  • Work with the Assistant Store Director on center-of-store operations and fill in for the Assistant Store Director during absences or when the Assistant Store Director is filling in for the Store Director.
  • Manage the total store operation, including supervising all employees and handling customer complaints, when the Store Director and Assistant Store Director are absent.
  • Initiate corrective action as needed when the Store Director and Assistant Store Director are absent.
  • Act as the liaison between store leadership and late-shift operations to ensure smooth store operations.
  • Maintain customer awareness and provide fast, friendly, and courteous customer service, including suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
  • Handle customer relations issues.
  • Order, receive, store, price, stock, and merchandise products.
  • Coordinate with late-shift employees and department leads to plan, organize, and direct day-to-day late-shift operations and special sales and advertising needs.
  • Implement company and division merchandising policies and Store Director instructions.
  • Prepare task lists for night stockers and day stockers for applicable shifts.
  • Perform receiving clerk duties when the Inventory Control Clerk is absent.
  • Build and execute store marketing and merchandising plans with Head Clerks, PICs, and Food Clerks.
  • Order products for displays and work with day stockers to minimize out-of-stocks.
  • Support store leadership in executing strategies to improve product placement, profit, sales, store standards, and other key metrics.
  • Train Head Clerks and PICs for potential promotion to Third Person in Charge.
  • Support the Store Director in executing the company's safety culture and safety programs.
  • Assess and meet hiring needs by ensuring positions are posted, interviews are scheduled, and new hires are onboarded.
  • Administer required web-based and mandatory training to new and newly promoted employees.
  • Ensure new-hire paperwork and policy acknowledgments are completed and maintained in personnel files.

Albertsons closes 120-year-old Vons grocery store in California, cuts 65 jobs

Albertsons appoints McDonald's CIO Brian Rice to board, issues $2.1B in notes to fund digital push
