- An active Registered Nurse license is required.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or an education equivalency for licensing is required.
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing 0-25 pounds is required, with occasional handling of objects weighing 25-50 pounds.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements, vision and depth perception, hearing and speech, and keyboard use/data entry are required.

- Complete behavioral health intake assessments.
- Coordinate patient placement and care plans.
- Document evaluations and support crisis intervention.
- Evaluate the severity of illness for elective, direct, and urgent admissions to determine the appropriate level of patient care.
- Review physician orders for clinical appropriateness, completeness, and proper admission status.
- Coordinate education and development for internal staff and external departments to ensure understanding of the intake review and approval process.
- Conduct complex clinical reviews for inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary service requests for medical necessity.
- Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring nursing care is delivered according to patient age-specific and clinical needs.
- Use professional nursing standards and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide responses to current and evolving patient and population health needs.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Behavioral health or acute care experience is preferred.
