Requirements
  • At least 10 years of EOD/MEC experience if an EOD school graduate, or 13 years if a graduate of a UXO Technician I school.
  • Meet the criteria for and perform the functions of a UXO Technician III, UXO Quality Control Specialist, and UXO Safety Officer.
  • Comply with Department of Defense Technical Paper 18 and applicable Department of Defense, federal, state, and local requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Defense Military Service- and/or Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board-approved site plans.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site munitions response and operational range clearance activities.
  • Supervise up to ten UXO teams.
  • Assist in developing required plans, including quality control plans.
  • Review field reports and approve UXO team reports.
  • Supervise and perform on-site destruction or demilitarization of material potentially presenting an explosive hazard in place or at a consolidated detonation site.
  • Determine when it is safe to initiate destruction and when engineering controls are required to mitigate detonation effects.
  • Implement explosives storage plans in accordance with applicable guidance.
  • Prepare administrative reports required for munitions responses and operational range clearance activities.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and work plans for munitions responses and operational range clearance activities.
  • Assist in preparing risk and hazard analyses.
  • Conduct daily site safety briefings.
  • Supervise material potentially presenting an explosive hazard-related activities performed at the site.
  • Determine whether material designated as munitions debris and explosive hazards is safe to ship and properly documented for transport over permitted transport routes.
  • Package military munitions, commercial explosives, and material designated as munitions debris and explosive hazards determined safe for transport.
  • Serve as the UXO team leader.
  • Develop and implement the project quality control plan after approval.
  • Conduct and document quality control audits of material potentially presenting an explosive hazard-related activities.
  • Identify, document, and report corrective actions and ensure their completion.
  • Prepare quality control reports.
  • Develop and implement explosives and health and safety plans and programs after approval.
  • Analyze operational, explosives safety, and general safety risks and implement mitigating measures.
  • Establish and enforce site-specific explosives safety requirements, including personnel limits and explosives safety quantity-distance arcs.
  • Conduct, document, and report safety inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure protective works and safety equipment within exclusion zones are used and operated according to applicable specifications and requirements.
  • Ensure air-monitoring equipment is properly operated and maintained at sites with known or potential airborne contaminants.
  • Evaluate the risk of moving material potentially presenting an explosive hazard within a munitions response site or operational range and approve movement when acceptable.

Anduril is unhappy that it did not land spots in both portions of a $1.5 billion Homeland Security Department contract for counter-unmanned aircraft systems. The company won a position as one of the comprehensive service providers in track two, but did not receive an award in track one for hardware/software and ancillary services. Anduril is challenging DHS' evaluation of its proposal and argues that it should have received awards for both tracks of the five-year C-UAS vehicle, awarded earlier this month. Track one winners are BAE Systems, CACI International, Dedreone Defense, D-Fend Solutions, EMS Defense Technologies, Fortem Technologies and Leidos. Anduril's competitors in track two are Astrion, BAE, Booz Allen Hamilton, General Dynamics IT, Leidos and Parsons Corp. DHS received 57 offers for track one and 47 for track two. Bidders could pursue both tracks if they wanted to. Anduril filed its protest on Aug. 12. A Government Accountability Office decision is due by Nov. 20.

Parsons shares plunge 35% after missing revenue estimates by $30B

Pomerantz Law Firm is investigating potential securities fraud claims against Parsons Corporation and certain officers or directors on behalf of investors. The investigation follows Parsons' 29 July 2026 second-quarter financial results, which showed revenue of approximately $1.58 billion, missing consensus estimates by $30 billion. The company also lowered its full-year revenue guidance from $6.5 billion–$6.8 billion to $6.2 billion–$6.5 billion, and sharply reduced its adjusted EBITDA and cash flow guidance. During an earnings call, Parsons disclosed it had divested certain contracts and exited two programmes facing staffing, supply chain and management challenges. Following the announcement, Parsons' share price fell $21.71, or 35%, closing at $40.32 on 29 July 2026. Affected investors are being advised to contact the law firm.
