Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • The ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach above shoulder level, perceive objects through touch, hear normal conversation and high and low frequencies, and see general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision is required.
  • The ability to transport patients weighing up to 250 pounds via wheelchair, bed, or stretcher is required.
Responsibilities
  • Collect and update patients’ demographic and insurance information and complete patient registration in the electronic medical record systems Epic and Systoc.
  • Assess patient acuity in waiting areas, escort patients to exam rooms, gather medical histories, obtain vital signs, and prepare patients and rooms with the necessary instruments and equipment.
  • Schedule patients for advanced care with specialty providers, workers’ compensation follow-ups, and other clinical services.
  • Perform point-of-care testing according to protocol and clean, calibrate, and maintain equipment and exam rooms.
  • Collect urine, saliva, hair, breath, and blood specimens for Reasonable Suspicion Drug and Alcohol Testing and Fit for Duty testing while following chain-of-custody protocols.
  • Assist nursing staff and providers in delivering patient-centered care.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure the proper release of information.
  • Comply with employee, patient, and environmental safety policies and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrate performance improvement in clinical care and outcomes, customer and service improvement, operational systems and processes, and safety.
  • Use resources effectively and efficiently in daily procedures, processes, and practices.
  • Comply with attendance and dress-code policies.
  • Demonstrate competency in patient assessment, range of treatment, growth and development, and age-appropriate communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
