Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution in mechanical, industrial, or aerospace engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software; Inventor, Solidworks and DEFORM are highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 or AS9100 quality standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, fixturing and gaging methods. Know how to perform process capability.
  • Experience in machining or metal forming operations.
Responsibilities
  • Designs tools for heading, press, rolling operations and related functions which ensure that products manufactured meet all specifications while maximizing life of tooling.
  • Designs tools for new products or machines and changes or improves existing tool drawings.
  • Makes machine part drawings and tool drawings from broken parts. Consults with Production Technicians and Manufacturing Supervisors to determine best design concepts, processes and methods.
  • Interfaces with Production Technicians to participate in trouble shooting of manufacturing problems.
  • Evaluates tool designs and set-ups for proper functioning and cost effectiveness.
  • Checks drawings of others for errors and makes corrections as necessary.
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to continuous improvement manufacturing.
