Requirements
  • The candidate must have graduated from high school or hold an equivalent General Educational Development credential.
  • The candidate must have at least five years of experience inspecting mechanical components in an aerospace or defense-related company.
  • The candidate must be capable of using standard inspection tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, and optical systems.
  • The candidate must be able to read and understand military specifications and industry standards.
  • The candidate must be able to read and understand English.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of management and engineering staff.
  • The candidate must have basic personal computer fundamentals and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • The candidate must be able to lift 20 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Provide effective verification of products and certification packages against requirements and communicate findings associated with the verification.
  • Perform inspection of components and assemblies as part of receiving inspection.
  • Inspect products using handheld gages, MicroHeight, and an optical comparator.
  • Maintain accurate, neat, and complete inspection records.
  • Keep the work area organized and clean and follow all established safety guidelines.
  • Work within a team structure to achieve company and department goals.
  • Perform additional duties related to specific area assignments when requested.
  • Learn the operation and programming of a Hexagon coordinate-measuring machine if assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Significant experience working directly with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with AS9000 or AS9100 quality system procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
